Kate Winslett showed her winning form consisting of a voluptuous body and flawless complexion during the red carpet for the premier of her new movie “The Reader”. Winslett is known for criticizing her body as not perfect if you want the Hate Moss type of body. Nevertheless, her fans seem to love her voluptuous bod preferring it over the slim and wan women actresses in town.
Winslett already has two children with Sam Mendes, her director husband but she still looked every bit the virginal bombshell when she walked the red carpet in her Herve Ledger figure-hugging dress this week. Kate’s magic however lies not only in her looks and hot bod but also in her curious mind and thespian skills.
With five Oscar nods tucked under her belt, making her the youngest actress with such an achievement, Kate may be setting another record again if the Oscars jury give her another nod for her new movie “The Reader” where she plays the role of a woman who stands for a war-crime trial. Winslett’s lover in the movie is played by Ralph Fiennes. She first made record when she got two Oscar nominations at the age of 22 and each year when she got nominated for the Oscars, she was able to break her own record. She has been previously nominated for the Golden Globe, the Emmy Awards, the Grammy and Screen Actors Guild Award and BAFTA and her new role will definitely harvest another set of accolades acting-wise.
While Kate developed her mass appeal in the movie “Titanic” opposite Leonardo Di Caprio, she is known for her performances in several movies including Sense and Sensibilities, Little Children, Heavenly Creatures and Iris. Her other film “Revolutionary Road” where she is reunited with Di Caprio is another Oscar contender aside from “The Reader”.
Winslett was the original choice for her role in “The Reader” but had to give it up due to her schedule. It was given to Nicole Kidman who also had problems with her schedule as she was filming “Australia” that time. When it was offered to her again she was free and the rest is history.
