The death of Scott Ruffalo is still a mystery but one thing is for sure; he was not under the influence of drugs when he was shot. The L.A. County Coroner may have found traces of morphine, cocaine and alcohol in Ruffalo’s system at the time he died but these were very slight ruling out that he was under the influence of drug at the time of his death. Country Coroner spokesman Ed Winter, who said the morphine traces may be due to prescription medication, said the Coroners still believes that Ruffalo’s death was a homicide.

The 39-year old Ruffalo is the younger brother of actor Mark Ruffalo. He was found shot in the head at his condominium in Beverly Hills last December and died after a week in the hospital. Shasha Mishaal Adham turned herself in to the police a few days after the shooting but was later released. Adham’s lawyer Ronald Richards said they have evidence that Ruffalo, who is a known cocaine user, died as a consequence of playing Russian roulette. He added that Ruffalo often used drugs and played with guns even in front of witnesses. Records show that Ruffalo was sentenced to three days in probation after he pleaded guilty to drug possession with intent to sell in 2002. He also spent two days in jail in relation to the plea deal.
