Former Bond man Pierce Brosnan’s upcoming movie release has been put on the hold due to a lack of funds to market and promote the movie. Brosnan had signed up to play Lord Charles Somerset in the movie Heaven and Earth, a twenty million dollar biopic of James Miranda Barry.
The story is about James Miranda Barry, a woman doctor who masqueraded as a man to follow a medical career. There are now reports that an unidentified British financer has pulled out of providing funds he promised in time thus resulting in the film’s release being delayed.
There is little that can be in a situation like this, the producers are certainly the ones who have maximum risk at the moment and their money is completely invested. About Pierce I cannot understand why he is still not James Bond but then it now seems he is not going to be able to show his acting talent in this film either.
This could be a major setback for everyone involved in this project but for a big star like Pierce to have his movie not being able to get release just highlights that the economic crisis has started to affect Hollywood in a major way as well.
