Helen Mirren learns Hebrew

The actress has spent the past six weeks in Israel learning the language and studying intensely for her part in the movie “The Debt” where she plays a Jewish spy. This is not the first time Helen Mirren does intense research for a part. She told the story of how her husband forced her from the set of the movie “Love Ranch” to a brothel: “My husband was the director and he grabbed me kicking and screaming to the brothel. ‘You’ve got to do this! You’re going whether you like it or not.’” It’s a good thing that Helen Mirren is doing the research out of her own free will now. It would’ve probably been a real drag, and I use the term lightly, for her husband to have to “convince” her to do it.
