An overwhelming number of people polled on a Los Angeles newspaper site believe Roman Polanski will skip out of a $4.5 million bail he has been granted by a Zurich court.
Polanski has been granted bail after two appeals by his French lawyers. He stands to be extradited to the US on 30-year-old sex with a minor charges. Prior bail applications were rejected on the basis he was a high-flight risk.
The Swiss Justice Ministry still has 10 days to appeal against the decision and promised to quickly decide the matter.
The LA Times website polled readers, with 5,325, or 92 per cent, responding Polanski will flee, while 458, or just 8 per cent, responded that he would not
The site humorously acknowledged its online statistics were not of the highest accuracy. But they could reflect the strong sentiment of the city where he is wanted.
