Filmmaker Michael Moore has urged US President Barack Obama not to send more troops to Afghanistan.
Moore, who was in Japan to promote his latest documentary Capitalism: A Love Story said of Obama: “I passed on to him a personal request from my father [a war veteran] and his Japanese friend: ‘Mr. Obama, you do not know war. We both know war and want it no more’.”
Moore criticised former US president George W Bush and praised Japan for its traditional values of respect and peace.
For Japan, he had some words of advice: “As much as I like America, quit being like us. Be Japan.”
