Fugitive film director Roman Polanski is reported to be working on his latest movie The Ghost Writer while under Swiss house arrest.
The film was last week reported to be premiering at the Berlin International Film Festival. It tells the eerie tale of a ghostwriter, according to imdb.com.
Polanski was put under house arrest at his Gstaad mountainside chalet, The Milky Way, after posting a $4.5million cash bail. He was transferred from a Zurich prison on December 4.
A friend, French philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy, was quoted as telling the Le Matin Dimanche the director was surrounded by family and bombarded by supportive telephone calls.
A California court, meanwhile, this month heard prosecutors demand Polanski come to the US to put forward his argument for dropping 30-year-old charges of unlawful sex with a minor.
Levy told the French paper he visited Polanski in his chalet in the luxury resort of Gstaad about 10 days ago and found him to be like a “rock”. He said Polanski was at work and maintaining confidence even if his family was worried about US extradition. Levy had dinner with Polanski.
