Brad Pitt poked fun at Mel Gibson by calling him “sugar tits” at the Guys Choice Awards.

Gibson wore a Viking helmet as he rode into the testosterone-fuelled show on horseback. He took the mickey out of his iconic Braveheart speech by shouting: “They can take away our lives but they’ll never take our balls.”

Gibson then presented the Guy Hall of Fame award to Fight Club stars Pitt and Ed Norton and director David Fincher.

On accepting the award, Pitt poked fun at Gibson and famous comments he allegedly made during his 2006 drink-driving arrest by saying: “Thanks, sugar tits!”

Russell Crowe, Adam Sandler and John Cusack are among a list of stars who will be added to Hollywood’s Walk of Fame next year.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has revealed which names will be added to the tourist attraction next year as part of its Class of 2010.

The names have been picked from over 200 nominations and will receive their star on the Walk of Fame’s 50th Anniversary year.

Other additions include actors Colin Firth and Mark Wahlberg as well as actress Emma Thompson and director James Cameron. Disney composer and songwriters Alan Menken and Randy Newman will also receive a star.

Those added for services to the small screen include John Cryer, Jimmy Kimmel, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sam Waterston, Bill Maher, Chris Berman and Peter Graves.

For services to music there is Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Alan Jackson, Ringo Starr, ZZ Top, the Funk Brothers, Bryan Adams, Marco Antonio Solis and a posthumous star for Roy Orbison.

In the performance and theatre category, Andrea Bocelli and Guy Laliberte will receive the commendation.

Kevin Spacey is one of those underrated actors. He is clearly one of the best actors in Hollywood but definitely not getting big enough projects to showcase his talent except of course The Usual Suspects and Pay It Forward. However, there are sectors who believe that the Oscar-winning actor is worth more so they are giving him the National Pell Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Artist. The award is made in honor of former Rhode Island senator Claiborne Pell who died in January.

Kevin Spacey was selected by the Trinity Repertory company not only for his humanitarian work but because of his dedication to live theater and film. Senator Pell showed his dedication to arts and education during his 36-years stay in the Senate. Previous recipients of the Award are Robert Redford, novelist Toni Morrison and playwright Arthur Miller. Kevin Spacey, who is confident about art thriving even during a recession, said arts and culture are a necessity in life so people will go to theater to enjoy themselves despite the crisis.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt proved they are still the couple to beat after they wowed the British Academy Film Awards in London last Sunday. This time, Jolie opted for a Giorgio Armani evening gown in black with yellow accents instead of her trademark lose gowns during the recent red carpet events. The couple walked the red carpet and gamely signed autographs for fans.

Meryl Streep 59 years old actress was stunned to receive the prestigious honor for her role in the movie ‘Doubt’ in which she play a nun who suspects a priest for his wrong doing.

Accepting the award, Meryl – who wore black trousers to the ceremony – said: “I didn’t even buy a dress. I’m really, really shocked.

“There is no such thing as the best actress. There is no such thing as the greatest living actress. I am in a position where I have secret information that I know this to be true. I am so in awe of the work of the women this year – nominated, not nominated – so proud of us girls. Everybody wins when we get parts like this.”

The Hollywood Actress is so simple and moderate. She had no idea that she will get the award for the best actress. That’s very humble of the actress that even after delivering such a stellar performance she did not expect to win the award.

The movie “In Bruges” may have been classified by fans as boring compared to the other Farrell movies like Phone Booth but Farrell’s role in the movie has won for him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Comedy category. Farrell, who plays the role of a hit man in the movie who gets a change of heart after a vacation in Bruges, bested other nominees including his In Burges costar Brendan Gleeson, Javier Bardem in Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Dustin Hoffman in Last Chance Harvey.

Farrell’s win was indeed the night’s biggest surprise but hearing his suave speech one would think he was actually prepared to win. Attributing his snorting to colds and not to something he has been fond of earlier in his career (Farrell got hooked on drugs and entered rehab for it), Farrell would do any Dubliner proud. The award may be a signal for Farrell’s breakaway from high-budgeted high-profile movies like Alexander, Miami Vice, Tigerland and S.W.A.T and onto acting pieces.

For most Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore aren’t the ‘in’ couple of today and aren’t really showbiz’s most striking couple either but the two have created their own path to last the full. And at last night’s Golden Globe Awards, they looked as in love as ever.

The two arrived together on the red carpet outside the Beverly Hilton Hotel, holding hands and looked very much a couple in love and Demi was presented with the honor of announcing the Best Supporting Actor award, which went to the late Heath Ledger.

Yes of course no one will forget the ugly part of Demi which is her plastic surgery which at times really makes her look older than she is as of today and then suddenly at times she will be looking perfectly fine which is of course, you guessed it right a day or two after she has been treated for some deficiencies that have creped into her surgical mask.

That apart the two are wonderful together and Hollywood would do better if there were more of these two in others’.

Clint Eastwood is a legend when it comes to Hollywood movies but many are wondering why he has won several directorial awards even from the Oscar’s but hasn’t won even one such award for best actor? This may all change though if he gets the nod of the Oscar’s jurors this year for his recent film Gran Torino where he plays a grouchy widower. Gran Torino has yet to be released but talks are rife that this is going to be Eastwood’s unforgettable movie to beat.

Eastwood got the nod of the National Board of Review after they named him top actor for his role in Gran Torino. The Board, which consists of movie experts and buffs as well as film historians, announced their selection for this year last Thursday and the event kicked off Hollywood’s awards season.

Eastwood has won the Oscar Best Achievement in Directing Award for “Million Dollar baby” in 2004 and was nominated
for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in the same movie. He was nominated for the Oscar Best Director Award for “Mystic River” in 2003. He was nominated for Oscar Best Actor for the movie “Unforgiven” in 1992 and won the Oscar Best Director Award for the same movie. His fans are hoping that Gran Torino will make an Oscar best actor out of him this time!

The Board also named Anne Hathaway as best actress for her role in “Rachel Getting Married”, John Brolin as best supporting actor for his role in “Milk” and Penelope Cruz as best supporting actress for her role in “Victoria Cristina Barcelona”. Wall-E was named best animated feature.

The drama was a little closer to home for Kate Beckinsale before she headed to the Screen Actor’s Guild Award.

Kate laughed at the mishap on the red carpet, “Our cat caught fire on a candle. As I was getting ready, there was like ‘whoosh’ a fireball and he went up like a rocket.”

No worries now, though. Kate says, “The cat is fine. He had no idea.”

So, are you worried that the Golden Globe’s won’t take place because of the writer’s strike? Not if Alec Baldwin can help it.

Alec has graciously offered to let everyone hang out in his apartment for the show. Remember he is up for a Golden Globe for his show 30 Rock.

On the menu for the gala? “Tuna salad, whitefish salad, egg salad…potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw…wine or Amstel.”

He says, “A quick Red Carpet, hosted by Radioman, will be held at the parking lot of Tavern on the Green before we are all shuttled to my apartment building. ‘Round…5:30-ish? Sound okay?”

He goes on, “Looking forward to seeing you all on January 13th at my place.”

Can’t speak for everyone, but I, for one, will be there. I can’t turn down a good egg salad sandwich.

Uma Thurman and Alicia Keys were caught having a laugh during the press conference on Tuesday for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Concert at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Oslo, Norway. The concert was designed to pay tribute to the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize laureates for their achievements and to promote awareness of environmental issues and global warming.

Other people present ate the press conference include the likes of Kevin Spacey and Annie Lennox. Those are some mighty big names doing some big publicity for a very big cause. Kudos to them, it’s almost like they’re the ones getting the award.

Nicole Kidman accompanied her husband Keith Urban and shared a tender moment with him on the red carpet at the 2007 ARIA Awards which was held on Sunday. It’s Australia’s version of the Grammy Awards. The awards ceremony was held at the Acer Arena at the Sydney Olympic Park complex.

While the whole show was about music, Nicole unintentionally stole the spotlight on the red carpet as she signed autographs and greeted fans. The spotlight returned to Keith later on in the night though when he was awarded the best country album trophy. It was his third time to win the award.

Ryan Seacrest was the host of the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards that aired live last night and let’s just say he didn’t get the best of reviews. I didn’t think he was that bad! In fact, I thought he’d get GOOD review because we didn’t even see all that much of him. A lot of comedians had a lot of time on the mic. Even so, I thought it fine! Fact is, the Emmys are themselves just never all that interesting. People want to watch who like winning stuff, not the most ‘worthy’, like that cowboy/western crap or Tony Bennett or whatever…that’s why it’s kind of boring IMHO.. I thought Ryan did a perfectly good job hosting the Emmys…He’s not a comedian, he isn’t an entertainer, he’s a host!
