Angelina Jolie is reportedly set to adopt another child – a baby from Syria – but without partner Brad Pitt.

Jolie, 34, is rumoured to be adopting the baby on her own as her name is the only one on adoption papers.

A spokesman for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in DC said that “only [Angelina's] name [was] on the [adoption] papers”.

It is claimed that Pitt, 45, who has six children with Jolie, is not keen on adding another child to their family.

A source said: “He has made it clear that six children are more than he can handle.

“The idea of one more seemed ludicrous, but Angie is determined to complete her rainbow family.”

Andrew Morton in his book claims Jolie has now alienated her brother with the revelation in recent weeks that she shared a night of passion with her mother’s live-in boyfriend.

Their mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died of cancer at the age of 56 in 2007.

According to a UK magazine, the episode left the two women struggling to repair their relationship.

A source said: “Marcheline had a live-in boyfriend whom she was very much in love with, but Ange slept with him when she was 16 and barely out of school. Her mother found out and ended her relationship with the man.”

Jolie is now faced with a broken relationship with her brother. The source said: “When Ange admitted the story to her brother James just a few weeks ago, even he turned on her. She has hardly anyone left in life who likes or trusts her.”

Jolie’s representatives have declined to comment. The star of the Tomb Raider movies is the live-in partner of Brad Pitt, with whom she has six children.

The lesbian TV personality said the pair spoke on the telephone before the Tomb Raider star wed Billy Bob Thornton.

But Rosie, 47, whose marriage to wife Kelli Carpenter is said to have crumbled in recent weeks, said she was too scared to ever go on a date with the movie beauty.

She said: “We talked on the phone two or three times, but that was that.

“There was a tentative plan to have dinner that never came through.

“I was a little afraid of her. She’s scary in a sexual kind of way.”

But she said she still thinks about Angie, 34.

She told a US radio show: “I have dreams about her a lot still.”

Actress and model Jenny Shimizu claims to have bedded Angelina in the past.

Rosie made her claims on DJ Howard Stern’s radio show.

Brad Pitt reportedly said partner Angelina Jolie would ‘kill him’ for his recent motorbike accident.

Brad, 45, crashed his motorbike into another vehicle in LA but escaped unhurt.

However, it is claimed he was more worried about how partner Angelina, 33, would react at the news of the accident.

After the crash, he reportedly went into a nearby apartment complex.

One of the building’s residents, Talia Schwartz, said: “He told the building manager that Angie was going to kill him because she thinks motorcycles are too dangerous.”

The accident happened as Brad tried to fit the bike between two cars that had stopped for traffic.

An onlooker said: “He misjudged the space between the cars, and it was just a hair too small to fit his bike.”

Oscar-winner Theron has reportedly dropped out of The Tourist and the Tomb Raider star has now been linked to the role.

Fresh off an action-heavy part in Salt, and with apparently no commitments in the near future, Jolie would fit in well to the project.

A remake of a French thriller, the film centres on an American tourist who, on behalf of Interpol, goes undercover to entrap a former lover who is a suspected global criminal.

Her role would be one-part seductress and one-part action, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will star alongside Terminator: Salvation’s Sam Worthington.

The project, which originally had Tom Cruise set as the male lead, is also seeking a new director after Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day Helmer Bharat Nalluri dropped out.

The film up to now had been set for an early 2010 release.

The father-and-son duo went to Dave & Busters in Manhattan to play some car-racing video games.

Brad’s five other kids with his partner, actress Angelina Jolie, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Vivienne and Knox are currently in France with Jolie, 34.

Maddox was accompanying his dad on his business trip to the Big Apple.

Pitt, whose new film Inglorious Basterds has been a massive hit at the box office, ended up winning the video game.

The actor is said to be snapping up property surrounding the Chateau Miraval estate he shares with partner Angelina Jolie in France, it has been claimed.

The couple, who have six children, splashed out US$60 million for the 1,000-acre estate in the South of France, which features 35 bedrooms, a vineyard, lake, a forest and its own moat, the New York Post reports.

A source said: “One thing he loves about the estate is the privacy it affords.

“Nobody can get near it. So with Angelina completing her pilot’s license, their own airstrip would give them total freedom to come and go.”

Both Pitt, 45, and Jolie, 34, are known to be keen pilots.

A representative for the couple was unavailable for comment.

Hollywood golden couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been rated two of the most influential people in society and pop culture in Vanity Fair’s annual New Establishment List.

The pair have taken eighth spot on the list to be the only showbiz superstars to make the top 10 alongside Wall Street tycoons and politicians.

Salma Hayek’s mogul husband Francis-Henry Pinault is ranked 20th in the top 100.

U2 frontman Bono and Oscar-winner Tom Hanks are placed 34th and 35th respectively.

Talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey is 38th, just ahead of movie hunk George Clooney in 39th.

Other famous names who feature are veteran actor Robert DeNiro, who is 47th, and action hero-turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger in 49th.

Twilight author Stephanie Meyer makes the list for the first time in 82nd place.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are enjoying some separate day trips on their holiday.

The couple, who have been vacationing in the South of France for the past two weeks, both recently took the chance to get away for the day without each other.

Angelina, 34, went first and took their daughter, Shiloh, to the Mediterranean island of Corsica. The pair visited Place Foch, the Napoleon Museum and even made time for a bit of shopping.

After the actress returned home, Brad took his turn to go on a day trip.

Brad, 45, who stars in the new Tarantino film Inglourious Basterds, flew to Spain to look at something he has taken an interest in, the construction site of Aviles’s new International Cultural Centre.

Aviles’s Mayor said: “He is interested in supporting the project. Both from its cultural aspects as well as its architectural design.”

Quentin Tarantino’s latest release, Inglourious Basterds, rose quickly to the top of the US box office on its opening weekend, taking in $37.6 million.

Elsewhere it toted up $27.5 million in 22 countries to accrue a worldwide total of $65.1 million.

The flick, which has put Tarantino back in place as a major director, is about a bunch of Jewish commandos in World War 11 with a plot to take out Nazis.

Starring Brad Pitt, it also promises to do wonders for Harvey and Bob Weinstein of Weinstein Co – and overseas for Universal.

Basterds was Tarantino’s best-ever opening. In comparison, Kill Bill – Vol 2 pulled in $25.1 million in 2004.

The Sony sci-fi flick District 9 came in second over the weekend, with domestic takings of $18.9 million, followed by the robust G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra at $12.5 million. The Time Traveller’s Wife brought in $10 million.

Quentin Tarantino is already planning a prequel to Inglourious Basterds.

The maverick director said he has the plot sketched out in his head. And he says many of the film’s cast have agreed to appear in the precursor to the violent Nazi-era movie – and have been urging him to do it.

He said: “I’ve got some of it written already. A lot of the actors would really like to do it. If [this] movie proves to be very popular then we’ll do it.”

Actor Eli Roth – who stars in the film with Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger – told a US newspaper: “It’s about my character and Brad’s character in Italy. We’ve already signed up. We told Quentin we absolutely want to do it. On set, we’d be, like, ‘Do a prequel!’ and Brad would be yelling ‘Prequel!’ in between takes.”

Brad Pitt is becoming a superhero – for his kids.

The actor said he joined the cast of upcoming animation Oobermind because he thinks the children will like it.

But he plays a hero who has had enough of saving lives, and wants to quit the business.

He said: “I’m doing a voice for an animation film. It’s just something that they’ll enjoy. They’ll think Dad’s cool.

“I’m a superhero who wants out. I’m done.”

US television presenter Ann Curry asked him: “Is it autobiographical?”

He told American television’s The Today Show: “It’s really not. But it sounded good, didn’t it?

“It sounded like an angle.”

Brad, 45, will next be seen on screen in Inglourious Basterds, in cinemas this week.

It follows reports that he fell asleep on the set of the flick because he was so tired from looking after his big brood.

Tina Fey and Will Ferrell are also expected to star in Oobermind, set for release next year.

Robert Downey Jr. was also reportedly set to feature but has left the project over scheduling conflicts.

Brad Pitt joked that he IS running for political office, saying: “I’m running on the ‘gay marriage, no religion, legalisation of marijuana’ platform.”

Pitt’s possible political aspirations came under the spotlight with his charity push to help rebuild New Orleans with affordable green houses.

He has become such a figure of pride for the city a popular t-shirt is sold: ‘Brad Pitt for Mayor.’

Asked if he would run and if he would serve, Brad said ‘Yeah’ both times with a straight face.

But he made it clear he wasn’t being serious: “I’m running on the ‘gay marriage, no religion, legalisation and taxation of marijuana’ platform. I wouldn’t stand a chance.”

Asked if he was being coy and would consider running, Brad insisted: “I don’t have a chance. No way. It’s not what I do best.”

Brad seemed uncomfortable when asked about his personal life, including a recent interview in which he said his definition of love is “when someone else’s interest trumps your own”.

“I stand by that,” Brad said. “Some day, it won’t always be there – I don’t look forward to that day. The greater the love, the greater the loss.”

Hollywood actor Brad Pitt was offered a T-shirt bearing an illustration of his face next to the slogan ‘Brad Pitt for Mayor?’ during a US television interview.
The shirt is part of a grass-roots effort to get the Mr & Mrs Smith star elected as the next leader of embattled US city, New Orleans. The city will go to the polls to choose a new mayor in April 2010.
Brad, 45, helped set up the Make It Right foundation which aims to rebuild parts of the city devastated by Hurricane Katrina and support victims of the damage.
And he has worked hard to keep the city’s plight in the headlines since the 2005 hurricane.
But it is not known if he is a fan of the idea – because the T-shirt clip was only shown as a teaser for the full interview, to be broadcast later in the week.
By going into politics Brad would be following in the footsteps of former actor Ronald Reagan – who ended up becoming the 40th President of the United States in 1981, and one-time Hollywood action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is now the Governor of California.
The full interview with Brad will be shown on American television’s The Today Show on Thursday.
Interviewer and host Ann Curry said: “He said a lot of sweet things about his family.
“They are very private and I respect that.”
