Emmy and Oscar-winning funny lady Cloris Leachman has been selected to be the grand marshal for the 2009 Rose Parade.
According to reports, the Dancing with the Stars gal said she’s thrilled to be grand marshal of a parade that—in her words—”is older than I am.”
Something is actually older than her! I can’t believe it. Just Kidding Ü
Cloris is a very young 82-years old.

Did you think that Misty May-Treanor would have the courage and strength to continue on “Dancing with the Stars”.
After a foot injury during dance rehearsal with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy on October 3, the Olympic volleyball gold medalist was forced to step out of the dance show.
The announcement came from the beautiful May-Treanor herself live on the Monday night show on October 6, 2008.
Well! She had the courage but not enough strength to return.
At the end of the show, May-Treanor talked to PEOPLE magazine, “I ruptured my Achilles tendon and from that point on I knew I couldn’t continue. I’m out and I’m really bummed.”
She further added, “We don’t know why these things happen. They could happen to anyone. I feel like I was only just beginning here.”
Every dark cloud has a silver lining and the good news is that the injured Misty has decided to start her family with husband Matt Treanor, a professional baseball player, as she will be requiring nine months for the rehabilitation after her surgery.
She said, “Having nine months off? That could happen. I was planning to take a little time off next year anyway, so this solidifies that.”
May God give her strength to return to the volleyball court and even to the ballroom.
It is a dream for any athlete to win an Olympic gold medal, where as for a performer, her best moment is to win a dancing competition.
There are a few persons who want to achieve both. Misty May-Treanor wanted to strive for both but it seems unlikely for her to succeed.
The beautiful athlete, who happens to be an Olympic gold medalist in Volleyball, is also a contestant at “Dancing With The Stars” TV show.
She was injured on October 3 while dancing. Although the initial reports depicted that she broke her ankle but it is denied by ABC Network.
Even the Judge Bruno Tonioli had praising words for the volleyball champion. He said, “I love your energy, I love what you put into it. You forget the finesse - you put so much power [that] sometimes you stumble a little bit. But you do a good job.”
We can all pray that she gets well soon and we get to see her again on the show.

The stars on Dancing will be short one member. Derek Hough, partner of Shannon Elizabeth, was taken from the set in an ambulance with an apparent neck injury. The injury was sustained during rehearsals.
An ABC spokesperson said that he was taken to an L.A. hospital to be examined. He went on, “The injury does not appear to be serious.”
Karina Smirnoff was dating her former partner from Dancing with the Stars, Mario Lopez. Now, rumors are flying that she’s hooked up with her current partner, rapper Mario.
It has been said that she was seen kissing Mario at a party back in February, but she says it didn’t happen. She said, “I told you to keep it on the DL, dude!…By the end of the show, I will be pregnant with Mario’s baby!”
Mario’s rep says, “They’re not dating.” Plus, a source close to Karina and Mario Lopez’s rep says they are very much still a thing. “They’re totally boyfriend and girlfriend. They went out to Eva Longoria’s restaurant opening together.”
You may know her as a country superstar or you may simply know her from her Dancing with the Stars run, but either way, Sara Evans has found love. You may remember that she went through a nasty public divorce last year.
Now, according to her rep, she plans to marry Jay Barker, formerly a quarterback for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide who led them to the national championship in 1992. Lori Genes say, “The couple are enjoying their engagement and look forward to their upcoming nuptials.”
This will be the second marriage for both. Sara enters with three children with ex husband Craig Schelske and Jay comes with four children from his previous marriage.
cheryl Burke is a two time champion on Dancing with the Stars. Matthew Lawrence is the cute younger brother of Joey Lawrence. They have called it quits after a year.
Her rep says, “I can confirm that Cheryl Burke and Matthew Lawrence quietly ended their relationship a few weeks ago.”

After Marie Osmond’s dollface was given the boot, the competition on Dancing with the Stars came down to race car driver Helio Castroneves and his partner Julianne Hough and Spice Girl Melanie Brown and her partnerMaksim Chmerkovskiy.
At the start of the final showdown, Castroneves was in second place, a mere one point behind Scary Spice. However, his quickstep on Tuesday night earned him a perfect score of 30.
After combining the scores from the judges with votes from viewers, it was determined that Castroneves had earned the mirroball trophy as the winner of this fifth season of DWTS.
His response? “It will look so good between my two Indy 500 trophies.”
It was a first place finish for him once again.
