Hollywood star Kevin Costner has not brought his family on his European tour as he is afraid of the risk of swine flu.

Kevin, 54, has six children and his two youngest children – sons Cayden, two, and Hayes, eight months – are with his current wife Christine Baumgartner.

He said: “It is unusual that my family are not here because they usually are always with me. But I have been worried about swine flu and didn’t want my small children with me this time on this trip.”

The actor is in Germany with his country band Modern West and he revealed his wife Christine suggested he should take the trip to fulfil his music dream.

He added: “I wanted to bring my music to the people. And since my ancestors emigrated to America in the 17th century, I wanted to return to Germany.”

Reality star Jon Gosselin was reportedly “a mess” at his daughters’ recent birthday party.

Jon, 32, turned up to the party held for twins Mady and Cara’s birthday and onlookers say he was a mess.

Jon split with wife Kate, 34, in June and the couple have eight children together and were the focus of a US reality show called Jon & Kate Plus 8.

An onlooker said to FOX411: “Jon didn’t shower or clean up for the birthday party. He looked like he was in clothes he had slept in the night before. He barely shaved and was a mess.

“He walked in with his own cake for the girls, but as Kate had promised, she made a traditional cake like she tries to do for every birthday.”

The onlooker also claims that Jon read emails from Kate to the paparazzi on his Blackberry and also left the bash to speak to the paps.

The onlooker added: “Jon is willing to talk to anyone and trust anyone. He is making a public mess out of their divorce and Kate will not participate in the mud-slinging.

“After all she saw him doing, she actually felt a little sad for him and had intended to let him spend as many hours as he wanted with the girls.

“Kate sees him falling apart and she is still so angry with him, but she is beginning to see him unravel far more than she ever will. She acted as if everything was fine in front of the kids and was very nice to Jon.”

Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon is helping his mother recover from cancer, it has been revealed.

Lady Sonia McMahon is recovering at her home in Sydney, Australia after having an operation to remove lymph glands from under her left arm two weeks ago.

She was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma in the same arm in July.

Julian has been by her side as she recovers – and has brought his daughter Madison with him from their home in Los Angeles.

Lady Sonia, 77, told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper she was now on the mend.

“As far as I’m concerned that’s it,” she said. “It’s sorted.”

Julian finished filming the latest series of Nip/Tuck earlier this year.

He flew back to Australia, where he was born, on July 27, his 41st birthday.

In Nip/Tuck, Julian plays the womanising plastic surgeon Christian Troy.

He is divorced from nine-year-old Madison’s mother, actress Brooke Burns.

His father is Sir William McMahon, former Prime Minister of Australia, who died in 1988.

Liam Neeson says he and his sons are ‘taking each day as it comes’ following the death of the star’s wife Natasha Richardson.

Richardson died earlier this year following a head injury she received during a ski trip to Canada.

Neeson said that his sons, Michael, 14, and Daniel, 12, ‘are doing good’.

“I am still getting extraordinary condolence letters from the American people that are deeply, deeply touching. And that is part of the reason why I recently became an American citizen.

“America has been very, very good to me. I am still a proud Irishman of course, but I have become an American citizen and I am very proud of that.”

Northern Irish-born Neeson also paid tribute to the late Senator Edward Kennedy and revealed that the politician had written to him following the death of Richardson.

“He wrote my family a very, very beautiful, touching condolence letter when Natasha died,” said Neeson. He was a special man. It is the end of an era.

“I have a very clear memory of being a 10-year-old boy and being taken to the ancestral Kennedy homestead in Ireland and posing for a photograph underneath the gable of their home with the American flag and the Irish flag up there,” said Neeson.

The Jackson family will lay son and pops star Michael to rest in a private burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery in suburban Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Acting Mayor Jan Perry said the star would be buried shortly before his memorial starts at 10 am at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

The burial will take place at 8 am at Forest Lawn in Glendale.

A source was quoted saying some Jackson family members will start the day at the Encino family compound and make their way to the cemetery before going on to the Staples event.

The funeral will end speculation the family would wait to clear legal hurdles to bury Jackson at his Neverland Ranch.

Public Enemies star Johnny Depp has revealed he used his own family as inspiration for his new film.

Depp, 46, plays the role of gangster John Dillinger in the film and said his own grandfather and stepfather were often on the wrong side of the law.

He said: “It has to do with my family and my upbringing. My grandfather, who I was close to as a kid, had run moonshine into dry countries and my stepfather had also been a bit of a rogue.

“He’d done burglaries and robberies and had spent some time in Statesville Prison in Illinois, where we actually ended up shooting some of the film.”

Depp also revealed he found a mugshot of his stepfather, Robert Palmer, who passed away in 2000, while going through records at the prison.

Cameron Diaz credits her co-stars as the reason she could get back to shooting their new flick after her dad died in the middle of filming.

Cameron, 36, was left devastated after her dad Emilio died after contracting pneumonia while she was shooting movie My Sister’s Keeper.

She said: “I was really, really fortunate to have these people to come back to.”

Cameron, who is currently promoting the new film with her co-stars Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vassilieva, added: “Being able to go back to the group of people who were there waiting for me was a blessing… so that’s really sort of the only way I was able to do it.”

The film’s director, Nick Cassavetes, worked through her absence by filming around her for two weeks.

He said: “To talk about this subject, you really have to say that people are more important than movies, and we forget that sometimes.”

He added: “We were all stunned to find out that he had died so suddenly and, apparently, he was a hell of a guy and a gigantic influence on Cameron.”

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past star Matthew McConaughey has said he “dreamt” about becoming a dad since he was 10 years old.

Matthew, 39, and girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed son Levi in July last year.

He said: “Becoming a dad is something I dreamt about doing since I was 10. It felt very natural. I always looked up to my elders.”

He added to the UK edition of Cosmopolitan magazine: “I remember looking up at my father and thinking: ‘Wow, when you get to be up there, that’s when you have it all figured out. That’s when you’re set.”

Matthew also admitted his parents’ rocky marriage has led him to take a different approach with her relationship with Brazilian model Camila.

He said: “My parents married each other twice and divorced three times. I’ve no plans to repeat the experiment – in relationships, I prefer the long, slow train ride to the roller coaster.”

Rumors of Sarah Palin tolerating her daughter’s love affairs continue to hound the vice presidential candidate even after the elections. This time though these same rumors are being spread around by the very person least expected to do it—Levi Johnson. Levi Johnson recently came out in the Tyra Bank Show and said Sarah Palin allowed her daughter Bristol Palin to share a room with him right in the privacy of Sarah Palin’s Alaskan home.

What’s worse, Levi Johnson said Sarah Palin allowed them some moments of intimacy even as she was probably aware they were having sex. The dalliances between18-year old Bristol Palin and 19-year old Levi Johnson which produced a child created quite a stir among voters during last year’s election. Some people even claim it has caused Sarah Palin’s vice presidency quest. The two kids were supposed to get married but called off their engagement in March. Levi Johson said he is not too sure about reconciliation and admitted he is not yet that mature to have a wife and a kid. Well, don’t you think it’s too late to be finally realizing that kiddo now that you have a kid and is supposedly responsible for his well-being and reputation?

The actress has recently revealed how she intends to discipline her children when she will have a family. Rosario Dawson wants to use the same method her mother used for her when she misbehaved: “I think licking is a really great way of disciplining your child. It’s definitely a lot better than screaming at them. My mom did it to me for punishment, she loves to say that I came from her so she can do anything that she wants to me in public. If I was acting out or talking up or just being a precocious child as I was she would lick me on my face in front of all her friends.” Quite the original method, I have to admit. But what will Rosario Dawson do until her children reach the age when that method actually becomes effective. I doubt a four year old would really find it as a very shameful experience to be licked in public.
