Singer Sarah McLachlan and her husband of 11 years, the drummer in her band, have split. I guess she’s going to find a new drummer. Sarah is sharing her grief with her fans through two new songs so the split is doing a bit of good when it comes to her music. ‘U Want Me 2’ and ‘Don’t Give Up On Us’. The singer says that the situation is pretty gross but she did not elaborate on the reasons for why they split. The couple have two young daughters together. Keep your head up Sarah! Just keep doing music so you won’t feel too bad.

Authorities are saying that music legend Isaac Hayes died of a stroke in his home in Memphis, Tennessee last weekend. Paperwork filed by Hayes’ family physician Dr. David Kraus lists the cause of death as a stroke. However, it was also reported that no autopsy had been done on the body. There is still no official determination released by the medical examiner’s office or filed with the Memphis health department which issues death certificates. Hayes’ family members said that the music man was under doctor’s care but did not give specifics. The truth behind the stroke claim is believable though as Isaac suffered from a stroke just a couple of years ago.

Country wreck Mindy McCready’s trip to rehab, which was highly influenced by Dr. Phil, comes with an added bonus. She will be getting a spot on Dr. Phil’s couch. There have been conflicting reports as to whether the crooner was in rehab for addictions or for psychiatric issues but a source close to Mindy says that she’s in a center that specializes in treating both addiction and mental health issues. Dr. Phil reportedly set the whole thing up and will visit soon. Mindy will have a total of 30 days at the facility and her treatment will culminate with the taping of an in-studio appearance on the good Dr. Phil’s show.

She may or may not have emphysema but one thing isn’t changing for Amy Winehouse – she’s not quitting smoking. She’s reportedly having some serious pulmonary issues but Wino was spotted inhaling a cancer stick just one day after she was released from the hospital. Daddy Wino keeps saying that if she doesn’t stop smoking the rock “It won’t just ruin her voice, it will kill her.” Meanwhile, her rep says that she doesn’t really have emphysema but rather just an early stage condition that may or may not lead to the disease. The early stages are the best time to quit so it doesn’t lead to anything more serious. Daddy Wino has a point.

A second Mariah Carey perfume is scheduled to hit the stores in September. It’s going to be called Luscious Pink by Mariah Carey. The new scent, just like her first fragrance M by Mariah Carey, will have notes of Tahitian tiare flower but is changed up by having a bouquet of lily of the valley, pink peony and a touch of white musk. Of releasing another perfume, the curvaceous diva says “Launching my first perfume was such an amazing experience that it has inspired me to expand my fragrance collection.” If she really wanted to expand her collection, she would have gone a completely different choice of base notes.

Now that Jennifer Lopez is done being pregnant with her twins but I’m sure is not yet done shedding the baby weight, she is adding to her list of titles as she is set to create a new workout gear clothing line. An insider told OK! magazine “She has some street gear already in her lines, but she wants something exclusively for sneakers, yoga pants and dance gear. She wants it to look great in the gym and in the street, and to be affordable and functional.” She must have been inspired to make her new line because the workout clothes she was using were so drab. Jennifer already has the clothing lines SweetFace and JustSweet to her name.

Is the quiet newlywed Beyonce Knowles already growing a little diva or hip hop mogul inside her tummy? The New York Post is reporting that the singer is pregnant with her first child with rapper Jay-Z. The paper reports confidently that “Pals of the tight-lipped newlyweds say the songbird is expecting the couple’s first child.” Only time will tell if it’s true but a rep for Beyonce saucily responds to the story by saying “I don’t know if she’s pregnant. Let me perform an ultrasound and get back to you.” Please do. That way, we don’t have to read about any more speculations.

Magazines and TV reporters can often be caught in a lie but I’m sure a man of God hardly ever is. A clergyman for the National Church of God in the Caribbean confirmed to People that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon did get married. Bishop Clifford Petty said that he was the one who presided over the singer and actor’s wedding. Combine his statement and the fact that the couple has gotten their hands on a marriage license in the Bahamas and boom – the marriage is a fact. According to a local official “It’s still a valid marriage even if it’s not filed. Anywhere in the world.”

Amy Winehouse was arrested last week for alleged assault on a good Samaritan. We can’t expect anything else from Wino than show up high to visit the cops. According to UK media, it seemed that Wino arrived to her voluntary questioning on Friday completely high on something. She was actually deemed unfit to be interviewed by a doctor at the police station making officers wait at least 4 hours before they could even question her. Wino left the station on Saturday after receiving a formal police caution for assault. She should have been kept in jail away from any drugs. If she could get drugs like Pete Doherty, they should throw her in solitary too.

Unlike Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera is one very proud Latina – which is probably why the petite singer was chosen to be one of the cover girls for People en Español’s 50 Most Beautiful 2008 issue. When asked about what she thought of Latin culture, Christina said that she absolutely loves it and that it’s something that she wants to instill in her son. That’s something we all know that Jessica Alba won’t do. If anything, she’ll tell her kid that they don’t have any Latino blood at all! Why can’t all Latinos be like Christina and Fergie. Heck! Fergie’s Latina blood only comes from her father’s grandmother and she’s still proud of it!

Avril Lavigne wants to become a magazine editor.

The ‘Girlfriend’ singer is keen to branch out beyond the music industry and try her hand at running a celebrity publication, but insists she will only focus on optimistic stories.

She said: “I would make it completely positive. There’s so much negativity in the world right now. I’d pick up the big stories, but they’d have to be positive.”

This isn’t the first time Avril has expressed an interest in other careers. Last month, the singer unveiled her new clothing line - Abbey Dawn. The range, which includes hooded tops, jeans and T-shirts, will go on sale in the US in July.

The 23-year-old singer is also planning to release her own range of beauty products. Avril applied for a patent for the line which is set to include “fragrances and perfume, aftershave, bath soap, shower gel, bath crystals, body lotion, body cream, hand lotion and talc.”

Karina Smirnoff was dating her former partner from Dancing with the Stars, Mario Lopez. Now, rumors are flying that she’s hooked up with her current partner, rapper Mario.

It has been said that she was seen kissing Mario at a party back in February, but she says it didn’t happen. She said, “I told you to keep it on the DL, dude!…By the end of the show, I will be pregnant with Mario’s baby!”

Mario’s rep says, “They’re not dating.” Plus, a source close to Karina and Mario Lopez’s rep says they are very much still a thing. “They’re totally boyfriend and girlfriend. They went out to Eva Longoria’s restaurant opening together.”

Jason Rae, saxophone player and husband of British soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae, was found dead in a Leeds, England, apartment.

Police were called to the home on Saturday afternoon. When they arrived, 31 year old Jason was dead.

A 32 year old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled substances. Rae died from a suspected overdose, but police are still waiting on results of toxicology reports.

If you were one of the many who voted for American Idol wannabe Michael Johns after his Tuesday performance, you could have been influenced by a performance that wasn’t even part of the show. At the end of the show, Ryan Seacrest threw to a tape which showed highlights of the performances. The one they showed for Michael was actually better than when he sang earlier. That’s because producers used his performance from his rehearsal. And if you can recall, Paula called Michael on tat saying she heard him during rehearsal and that he sounded a lot better. Apparently, the same thing happened with David Archuleta last week when he forgot his lyrics.

New mom Christina Aguilera was spotted just as she hopped into her limo after leaving Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles on Monday. The 27-year old Grammy award winning singer reportedly spent the day doing a photo shoot for People en Español. Later on that day, Christina was spotted with a gal pal and her music exec husband Jordan Bratman grabbing a bite to eat. There was no sign of their 2-month old son Max though. Maybe he just stayed at home with the nanny. Tsk. Is she even spending some time with her son? Or does she not care much like we did when her cover came out?

Ok, so there’s no confirmation from her camp yet, but judging from these pics, it’s either a baby or an abnormally large tumor. Either way, she should get that checked out.

I have a very particular style. I want it to be available to a lot of girls, and I want it to be affordable. I walked through (a Los Angeles) Kohl’s the other day and said, ‘Oh, when my line is here it’s totally going to stand out.” Pieces from the line will range from $24 to $48.

Amy Winehouse is in the middle of an international clash of the titans! Big media players in both the US and the UK are reportedly desperate to get an exclusive, no-holds-barred interview with the troubled singer. This means that Wino stands to get a lot of money off of her many woes in life.

In the US, CNN’s Larry King and talk show queen Oprah both have pressed Wino’s people for the sit down. In the UK, top anchorman Sir Trevor McDonald is pining for Wino. Sir Trevor has admitted that the US has a money advantage but he is still confident that he can win Wino over.

Scarlett Johansson is going full steam ahead with her album of little known, but critically beloved, songs by Tom Watts plus one original song. The record is set to drop in stores in May and none other than music legend David Bowie provides background vocals on two tracks. And if it’s anything to go by, Bowies swears that Scarlett is really good. He says on his official website that “The songs are great, really good Tom Waits stuff, and Scarlett’s performances are mystical and twice cool.” Is he talking about Scarlett’s singing or her boobs? I’m a little confused. There’s a double standard there if you read it carefully.

Britney Spears has finally gotten what she’s lacked since January 3 – a visit from her two boys. People is reporting that the fallen pop star got to see her boys on Saturday when they were driven by ex-hubby Kevin Federline’s bodyguard to her Studio City home. And per the conditions of the agreement between her lawyers and KFed’s lawyers, Jamie Spears and a psychiatrist were also present for the visitation which is also said to be in a therapeutic setting. I wonder what she did with the boys. I also wonder whether they got to have any grandpa bonding time.

Friday marked Jennier Love Hewitt’s 29th birthday. She and fiancee Ross McCall celebrated at steakhouse Morton’s in L.A.

As yet another mark of her lack of current hotness, only one paparazzi member showed up to capture the event. The picture taker said, “I just wanetd to wish you a happy birthday on behalf fof all the paparazzi. Unfortunately, the other 500 guys are on Britney right now.”

It’s been kinda nice to see him out of the picture. No nasty stories about him; no seeing him tag along with Britney. But, he’s back.

Well, not really. So his name is out there today - cops for the LAPD say they are not out to arrest Sam Lufti. Despite rumors that they want him on charges of allegedly drugging Britney, they say that’s not true. They say there is no investigation of that sort.

Sam’s spokesperson Michael Sands says, “Internet tabloid gossip Web sites need to stop reporting bogus stories without knowing the truth. They need to stop brainwashing the public.”

It has been said that North Shore University Hospital has been holding a room for two weeks, just waiting on Jennifer Lopez to check in to have her twins. Now, word has it, the room is occupied.

No official word yet, but a recent patient at the hospital says, “J. Lo is here!!” Guess we’ll get news in the near future.

Troubled singer Britney Spears, who was recently admitted to a Los Angeles hospital for psychological evaluation, has contacted a new lawyer because she is tired of being told what to do.

Britney, whose father Jamie is co-conservator of her estate and all her legal decisions, told prospective lawyer Jon Eardley: “I want my life back. I want to be able to drive my car. I want to be able to live in my house by myself. I want to say who is going to be my security guard. I want to see who I want to see at any time and make it happen.”

Britney is said to be considering hiring Eardley for her custody case with ex-husband Kevin Federline over their two sons - Sean Preston, two, and 17-month-old Jayden James. Kevin currently has full custody due to Britney’s erratic behaviour, which has resulted in her losing all visitation rights to the boys.

Meanwhile, Britney spent most of the weekend with her father and her assistant Brett inside her Beverly Hills home. However they did venture out to Hollywood restaurant Social Hollywood on Saturday night. A fellow diner said: “She seemed totally normal and level-headed, and everyone with her seemed calm. She was with a table of five people.”

Britney - who is currently dating British photographer Adnan Ghalib - was also seen shopping at a Los Angeles wedding dress store, sparking yet more speculation she is to wed for a third time.

Eleven days may not have been enough time for Amy Winehouse to spend in rehab. It hasn’t even been a month since she got out, but she was partying with friends over the weekend.

Friday night, she finally left her hole at a London hotel and hit a place in Shoreditch, where she hit the beers. She even had one for the ride home at 2:30 a.m.

Saturday was a girls’ night out with friends for some bowling. They even painted their nails red on the way! What an awesome evening!

When a romantic song came on she came out of the booth and slow danced with him. They were gazing into each other’s eyes. They were very openly tactile. It’s nice to see celebrities using their fame for a good cause. Colombian singer Shakira is shedding her wardrobe and auctioning it off.

The hip-swinging pop sensation is auctioning off more than 40 articles of clothing she wore on her 2007 Oral Fixation tour to benefit her Bare Feet Foundation, which is building a school for impoverished children in northern Colombia.

A shiny lavender skirt with turquoise and coral beading; a bright red dress with a plunging neckline and huge, winglike sleeves; a blue tank top emblazoned with the slogan “For Those Who Love to Rock”; and other items are up for bid on the website eBay Giving Works.

The auction began on Friday and continues for 10 days. “We have bids from all over the world. It’s very exciting,” said Eric Gazin, president of Auction Cause, the Los Angeles company running the auction.
