Animal-rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has announced Oprah Winfrey as its “Person of the Year.” Ingrid E. Newkirk (PETA President) said on Friday that Winfrey has over the past one year and always used her “powerful voice to defend those without one.”

All crap, yes they do really a lot of things to protect the wrong treatment of animals and the display or trade of fur and things like that but still for me its something that’s a bit of what I would call doubt.

Naming the person of the year do they also subscribe to this thing that Oprah is having a yard sale for her shoes, belts and jackets? No LEATHER or FUR…and what about the jets and cars…are they “animal free” too? Does PETA take this into consideration? I LOVE OPRAH….but for an organization such as PETA…I wonder..is it the $$$$$$ she gives?

Oprah Winfrey – the greatest talk show host and one of the world’s most powerful women has once again lead from the front.

She always sets personal example and leads the fellow celebrities by self-example.

Oprah has once again clinched the title from the list of world’s 30 most generous celebrities for the successive second year.

The list was compiled by The Giving Back Fund, a group that requests to hearten philanthropy.

The highest paid TV host Oprah runs a number of charities. She was ranked first with The Oprah Winfrey Foundation and Oprah’s Angel Network spending $50.2 million in 2007 on education, health care, and advocacy for women and children worldwide.
The second place was secured by trumpeter and A&M records co-founder Herb Alpert with the aid of The Herb Alpert Foundation spending $13 million on education.

What a huge difference!!! Oprah’s foundation spent almost four times the amount of the silver medalist.

May God Bless You, Oprah!!!

Medal winners that is.

Oprah Winfrey is taping her big Olympic special next week and she’s inviting everyone to come along.
According to the press release:

“Oprah and the city of Chicago are inviting hundreds of Olympians to
Chicago for a special show and YOU are invited.
That’s right! Come visit Oprah and some of the most amazing athletes live in Chicago. The episode will be shot in Millennium Park. The park opens on September 3 at 6 am. Admission to the lawn will be first come first served basis.

So if you’re planning to watch this you better get in line THE DAY BEFORE! I advise you to camp outside the park if you really want to get good seats for the show.

I just hope Michael Phelps can fit Big O into his schedule, because last time I checked he was in Disney World playing with Mickey.

Newlywed singer Beyonce Knowles, Jay-Z and The Police made it into the world’s most powerful celebrity list.

Oprah Winfrey was at number one. The TV talk show queen topped the annual Forbes magazine’s Celebrity 100 list once again, beating golf superstar Tiger Woods and Hollywood beauty Angelina Jolie.

Soccer star David Beckham - who moved to Los Angeles Galaxy last July in a multi-million dollar deal - made it into the top five for the first time.

The rest of the Celebrity 100 list is compiled of Johnny Depp, Jay-Z and Brad Pitt. Major stars to drop out of the prestigious list include double Oscar-winner Tom Hanks, new mom Jessica Alba and superstar singer Elton John, who was last year’s number seven.
