The daytime TV queen explained that she knew when it was time to say goodbye and felt that 25 years was the ‘perfect time’ to quit the show.

Oprah failed to keep her composure as she announced she would leave TV screens in 2011 and told her fans that they had ‘enriched’ her life.

“I love this show, this show has been my life and I love it enough to know when it’s time to say goodbye,” she said.

“Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and it feels right with my spirit. It’s the perfect number, the exact right time. So I hope that you will take this 18-month ride with me right through to the final show.”

Oprah, who began her chat show in 1986 and has interviewed a wide array of high-profile celebrities, had tears in her eyes as she made her announcement.

Wearing a long-sleeved grey dress, the talkshow host stood as she addressed the camera in a pre-recorded message for her show.

“After much prayer and months of careful thought, I’ve decided that next season – season 25 – will be the last season of the Oprah Winfrey show,” she revealed. “Over the next couple of days you may hear a lot of speculation in the press about why I am making this decision now and that will mostly be conjecture, so I wanted you to hear this directly from me.”

The TV star explained that she had been ‘beyond excited’ when she launched the first Oprah Winfrey Show on September 8, 1986, and paid tribute to her loyal viewers.

The Oprah Winfrey show is set to end in September 2011.

Gospel singer BeBe Winans has been banned from appearing on Oprah in the future after his ex-wife branded the chatshow host a ‘moral hypocrite’.

Winans’ ex-wife Debra complained after Oprah featured the famous singer on her show last week, even though he has a pending trial on domestic abuse charge.

Debra was upset that Oprah had taken a hard moral stance on Chris Brown, refusing to let him on her show after he beat then-girlfriend Rihanna.

But after Oprah let Winans on the show, Debra spoke out to reveal she was ‘hurt’ by the decision.

Winans is facing misdemeanour assault charges, stemming from an alleged fight with his ex, Debra, whom he is accused of pushing to the ground.

However, after Debra complained, Oprah acted swiftly and released a statement: “BeBe will not be appearing on the Oprah show until his legal matters are resolved in court.”

Winans is due back in court in January.

George Clooney has already graced the foyer of the White House.

Records released show Clooney and Oprah Winfrey were among the first visitors to President Barack Obama’s White House, meeting with the president, his wife, Michelle or top aides.

In Clooney’s case, the star – who is a United Nations messenger of peace – met with Obama and Vice President Joe Biden on February 23.

The group discussed the Sudanese crisis in Darfur, with Clooney requesting that a full-time envoy be despatched to the region. Oprah, meanwhile, interviewed the first lady on February 17.

The White House posted a list of some 480 records in response to questions about whether specific people visited the president’s home.

Clooney’s father, Nick, is a former politician and journalist.

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey has arrived in Copenhagen to support Chicago’s Olympic Games bid team, according to reports.

Winfrey, 55, has gone to Denmark to campaign for her adopted city Chicago to host the 2016 summer Olympics.

US President Barack Obama is also heading over to Denmark soon to join Winfrey, in an attempt to bring the Olympics to the Windy City, say reports.

Despite fierce competition, the pair, along with others, will try and persuade Queen Margrethe ll and Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen to let Chicago host the Games.

Hollywood golden couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been rated two of the most influential people in society and pop culture in Vanity Fair’s annual New Establishment List.

The pair have taken eighth spot on the list to be the only showbiz superstars to make the top 10 alongside Wall Street tycoons and politicians.

Salma Hayek’s mogul husband Francis-Henry Pinault is ranked 20th in the top 100.

U2 frontman Bono and Oscar-winner Tom Hanks are placed 34th and 35th respectively.

Talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey is 38th, just ahead of movie hunk George Clooney in 39th.

Other famous names who feature are veteran actor Robert DeNiro, who is 47th, and action hero-turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger in 49th.

Twilight author Stephanie Meyer makes the list for the first time in 82nd place.

George Clooney, Nicolas Cage, Penelope Cruz, Colin Farrell and Sir Michael Caine are just some of the stars set to attend the 34th Toronto International Film Festival next month.

Drew Barrymore, Oprah Winfrey and Demi Moore will join more than 500 celebrities expected at the major annual industry event for movies worldwide.

The festival, to be held in its namesake city, runs from September 10 to 19 and will showcase a staggering 271 feature films and 64 shorts from 64 countries.

Oprah rose from a childhood of poverty and abuse to become a millionaire at the age of 32.

She lives on a 42-acre estate in Montecito, California, and reportedly owns nine other homes.

Bluewater Productions publisher Darren G. Davis said: “She turned her wounds into wisdom and survived an abusive family to become one of the most powerful and influential people in the world.”

Oprah Winfrey’s $50m mansion has been evacuated as the California wildfires rage out of control.

The mansion, in Montecito, is the largest home in the celebrity-filled enclave just north of Santa Barbara.

Winfrey was in Chicago filming with Simon Cowell and Britain’s Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle when the order came through to evacuate the area.

But her staff were told by firefighters to immediately leave the 42-acre private estate, which has been the site of many of her exclusive parties, including a star-studded fundraiser for President Barack Obama in September 2007.

DiCaprio was voted the greenest celeb male, beating Bono, Brad Pitt and Ed Begley Jr, according to the surveys carried out by GreenDaily.com and Bebo.com.

Winfrey was voted the greenest female celeb and beat celebrities including Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Heather Mills.

However, Mariah Carey was voted the least environmentally-friendly star after reports that said she flies her personal trainer out to New York from the Caribbean.

Actor John Travolta, a trained pilot, was also on the bottom of the list as he regularly jets around the world in his planes.

Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey has chosen to speak about the sex scandal that has hit her South African girls school for the second time in as many years. A few students at her boarding school have been expelled from the school for sexual misbehavior after they were caught sexually harassing fellow students and some fondling each other.

Oprah Winfrey released a statement on Tuesday saying, “I’m disappointed that several of our students chose to disregard the school’s rules. It’s disheartening when any student has to be suspended or expelled and it’s a process that involves serious review and consideration. We insist on maintaining a campus environment that commands mutual respect, fosters academic excellence and encourages learners to fulfill their best potential.”

Which American school can boast of not having a sex scandal, just because it’s her school and there has been an incident such as this there is such an outrage and the media will of course not let go a chance to take a swipe at her.

I won’t blame the media either because most of those reporting such stories are not doing it for their part in bring such issues to the fore but rather to get print material that makes a quick buck for them.

Would you reminisce something so terrible? Apparently this is possible as in the case of Dennis Quaid who recently went back to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center along with Oprah Winfrey not simply to reminisce but to show people through an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show how this hospital overdosed his twins on blood thinner. But then again, Dennis Quaid might be there to make sure that what happened to his twins would not happen again and this time he has Oprah Winfrey’s camera behind him.

Hospital personnel have administered too much Heparin on Dennis Quaid’s newborn twins in November last year. Luckily they recovered and the Quaids settled the case for $750,000. As Denis Quaid entered the hospital premises followed by Oprah Winfrey’s camera, he said the place brought back lots of memories but not all of them good. Of course, his twins were born here so that would be one of the best memories he would have of the facility. However, the whole incident turned out to be horrible for Dennis Quaid and wife Kimberly Buffington when their newborn twins nearly died due to an accidental overdose.

Media mogul and talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has some really good advice for troubled singer Rihanna who is reportedly rekindling her love with Chris Brown. Brown and Rihanna’s relationship went into turmoil after Chris Brown hit her a month ago but now they are reportedly back as a couple.

Oprah is concerned that if Rihanna is back in the arms of Chris Brown then that does not argue well for the singer. She says, “You need somebody to tell you the truth in this moment. And the truth is guys, both Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I were your friend, I would call you up and I would say ‘Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself, heal yourself first.’ And also, ‘Love doesn’t hurt’. I’ve been saying this to women for years – love doesn’t hurt. And if a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again. I don’t care what his plea is, he will hit you again.’”

I do not know anyone says, the point is he hit her and we all know that. My question is being a female with respect for oneself how can she not want to punch him right in front of everyone and also make sure he get what he deserves for his act – imprisonment.

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has donated a whopping 1 million pounds to the New Jersey education system which happens to be a highly populated area. And during these financially tough times it is a wonderful gesture from her as whatever has taken place with economic crisis it should not affect the education of young America.

The donation will help fund scholarships and other programs that will benefit students on different levels of the educational system in Newark in New Jersey. In a release it has be said that 357,145 pounds assigned for at least three local education and community groups.

That is a wonderful gesture from a wonderful human being, she is using all of her power and money and other resources to help those who need it. If the future of this country is being helped by people such as Oprah then there is little doubt that the future is not bright and sunny.

There will be many parents who would be thanking her endlessly for securing the future of their children with such a donation. There is still a lot more that needs to be done to avert this crisis but with such steps there is hope.

Animal-rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has announced Oprah Winfrey as its “Person of the Year.” Ingrid E. Newkirk (PETA President) said on Friday that Winfrey has over the past one year and always used her “powerful voice to defend those without one.”

All crap, yes they do really a lot of things to protect the wrong treatment of animals and the display or trade of fur and things like that but still for me its something that’s a bit of what I would call doubt.

Naming the person of the year do they also subscribe to this thing that Oprah is having a yard sale for her shoes, belts and jackets? No LEATHER or FUR…and what about the jets and cars…are they “animal free” too? Does PETA take this into consideration? I LOVE OPRAH….but for an organization such as PETA…I wonder..is it the $$$$$$ she gives?

Oprah has once again clinched the title from the list of world’s 30 most generous celebrities for the successive second year.

The list was compiled by The Giving Back Fund, a group that requests to hearten philanthropy.

The highest paid TV host Oprah runs a number of charities. She was ranked first with The Oprah Winfrey Foundation and Oprah’s Angel Network spending $50.2 million in 2007 on education, health care, and advocacy for women and children worldwide.
The second place was secured by trumpeter and A&M records co-founder Herb Alpert with the aid of The Herb Alpert Foundation spending $13 million on education.

What a huge difference!!! Oprah’s foundation spent almost four times the amount of the silver medalist.
