One of the ever-continuing debates in the world of style, glamour and sex is that who is the sexiest woman alive at any particular time?

At this point of time, this question may be the most difficult one to answer.

With sizzling hot models and actresses like Kim Kardashian, Keeley Hazell, Angelina Jolie, Naomi Campbell, Paris Hilton, Marisa Miller, Eva Mendes, Victoria Beckham and many others sexy females it is becoming more and more difficult to clinch the top spot.

However there is one girl who can be titled as the World’s Sexiest Woman without a single second thought. She is the stunningly sexy Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry.

At 42 years of age, Halle Berry is named “Sexiest Woman Alive” by the men’s magazine Esquire.

She was flattered to win the title and said, “Being 42 and having just had a baby, I think I’ll take it. I share this title with every woman, because every woman is a nominee for it at any moment.”

In the article, Halle Berry described her idea of sexy, “Sexy is not about wearing sexy clothes or shaking your booty until you damn near get hip dysplasia; it’s about knowing that sexiness is a state of mind — a comfortable state of being.”

She revealed that spaghetti and wine turn her on big time.

Well! She surely has a heart of gold and a body of desire.

Gwyneth Paltrow believes husband Chris Martin was a gift sent from heaven by her late father.

The Oscar-winning actress met the Coldplay frontman just weeks after the devastating death of Bruce Paltrow and Gwyneth is convinced her beloved dad had something to do with it.

She said: “My father died and I met my husband three weeks later. So, in a way, it felt like my father was in heaven putting him there in my life, you know?”

Meanwhile, Gwyneth admits she broke down in tears while filming new movie ‘Iron Man’ because she was away from her two children, Apple, four, and two-year-old Moses.

She added: “Some days I’d think, ‘Oh, my God, they’re in the bath right now and I’m not there.’ I’d cry in my trailer! But I realised it’s OK for me to want to express that part of myself. It’s why I’m here. But I’ll never go back to exploiting it the way I did. Never! What I have at home is too precious.”

george-Clooney Paparazzi Tirade

We heard just a few days ago about Nicole Kidman fearing for her life in a chase from the paparazzi. Britney Spears has been forced to run a red light to avoid pursuit of photographers; causing reason for courts to ban her from driving her children around. Finally a star has spoken out against them.

George Clooney took a break from his bike ride with girlfriend Sarah Larson on Friday to give the snappers hot on his heel a piece of his mind. Just two months ago the star suffered a broken rib after a car collided with his Harley Davidson; and Clooney vents his frustration at the lengths some of the paparazzi will go to, to “do their jobs”.

“You can drive all you want, you can take my picture all you want, but what you cannot do is put people in danger,” The Oscar winner was caught on videotape climbing off his motorcycle and taking down the license plate details of his followers.

Well girls, we thought he was gorge anyway right? Now he’s the knight in shining armor against those horrible annoying snappers. You go George. All together now…and swoon.

Actress Julia Roberts knew she was destined to marry Danny Moder from the moment they met - because her body told her so. The 40-year-old began dating the then-married Moder in 2000 on the set of her movie The Mexican and insists she “just knew” the cameraman would eventually become her husband. How does that work when your body tells you this man is for your when he already had a wife whose body may have said the same thing? Ok, I guess he went with the million dollar woman over commitment to his ex-wife. I wonder if someone richer comes along will he leave Julia. I would like to feel happy for her but somehow this is wrong. You should fell ashamed Julia not happy anyways if he’ll do it to one woman the day may come for you to watch his back walk out the door for someone younger and richer than you.

A dream almost cost Sean Penn his new movie when the real-life subject of Into The Wild visited his mother in her sleep to tell her not to let the Oscar winner tell his story. The movie has been in all the papers in Fairbanks. We are all looking forward to watching the movie and it won’t be released here in Alaska. WHY. There is not a lot to do in the winter time. We need entertainment. I work at a military base as a civilian. I have heard so many times when is this movie coming to Alaska. I think Sean could have made a lot of money releasing this film here. Either way, I have heard so many people in Alaska that want to see this movie. Fairbanks only has one theater, and we are Isolated. Please release the movie or tell us why Alaska does not get to see this so interesting and well written movie.

Jamie Foxx’s career has taken him from the standup stage to the Oscar stage. Now he has a permanent spot on Hollywood Boulevard. I think Jamie Foxx is very talented and has well deserved the star, because he is a STAR. I say, do the damn thang. I loved his concert and I still have the fake money that fell from the ceiling. My kids actually thought it was real, I loved it. This is what Hollywood dreams are made of, this also proves that if you have the talent and more so the determination to success in this cut troth competition then there’s no one stopping you from reaching the stars. Right I think I am sounding a little dreamish with my words but let me let you that this is the way dreams are achieved. No one can hope to lay back and wish for his dreams to come true. Jamie you have certainly won the right to have your own star, bask in the glory this is your very own m moment.

Demi Moore Blasts Ageist Hollywood

demi_ashton-photo.jpg

Actress Demi Moore has blasted Hollywood for its ageist culture, insisting the best roles are offered to stars under the age of 40. Demi! You are over the hill! Why did you spend $440,000 on cosmetic surgery? It’s not how old you are. And not how old you look. And you look like a piece of leather, real stiff. Demi, you never were a really good actor, maybe that’s why you don’t have any good parts coming your way. What does she want now after being given so many opportunities, she acted and she’s proved at least to others that she can’t act. She needs to sit and watch some of her movies from a critics angle and then judge her performances for herself and then if she’s even half true to herself she’ll never come out and say that there are no roles for her or no ones giving her the chance to act in the movies. There are a lot many actresses well beyond 40 years of age and yet they have performed so well for the role that they are given which goes on to fetch them Oscar nominations, bet you can’t do that.

Blanchett is one of several actors to portray an aspect of Dylan’s life. Cate Blanchett has been named best actress at the Venice Film Festival for her role in the biopic of Bob Dylan, I’m Not There.
The actress has been hotly tipped to be nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the Todd Haynes film. Brad Pitt was named best actor for his role in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Harold Ford.
Ang Lee’s Se, Jie (Lust, Caution) won the Golden Lion for best film - after his 2005 win with Brokeback Mountain.
Lee’s sexually explicit thriller is set in Shanghai during World War II.
It tells the story of an idealistic young acting troupe who devise a plot to assassinate a Chinese official collaborating with the Japanese.
Lee said he was dedicating his prize to Ingmar Bergman, the Swedish director who died in July at age 89.
Neither Blanchett nor Pitt were at the awards ceremony but the actress sent a note of thanks.
“I’m sorry I can’t stand here throwing my arms around Todd, weeping just like a woman,” she said in a statement.
In I’m Not There, Blanchett is one of several actors to portray the singer Bob Dylan at various stages in his life. She plays the singer during his “folk-rock” years.
Director Haynes also went on to win a special jury prize for his film.
Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie grabbed the headlines when they arrived at the festival earlier in the week.
But Pitt’s best actor win for his portrayal of legendary outlaw Jesse James came as something as a surprise.
It was his co-star, Casey Affleck, who played James’ killer Ford as a creepy social misfit, who had been widely expected to scoop the prize.

Animal rights activists have lashed out at Oscar winner Jamie Foxx after he spoke out in defence of dog fighting ring leader Michael Vick on TV. The American footballer has admitted to funding a dog fighting operation as part of a plea agreement to lighten a possible prison sentence. That is BS! That guy Michael Vick he has plenty of money! Dog fighting is not a sport. What is wrong with these people? I am surprised at Jamie Foxx. I didn’t know he like dog fights. I guess that will be another S__THead I don’t go see at the movies! This is I think the second time in two days that I am writing on this story and it’s because I even now cannot understand why the hell would an actor like Jamie poke his ugly nose into this issue, is he out of his mind or completely out of show biz practically out of work that he had do make a audacious comment like this to let people know that he can talk as well as sounds dumb as the same time. Till date I used to exclude him from the list of ‘keep away and forget’ celebs but now on he tops that list.

Erin Brockovich joins down under refinery fight

Book, Julia Roberts, Movies, Oscar Winner, Pictures, Rumor, Television, Thumb Up No Comments »

With just a hint of Hollywood, famed U.S. environment warrior Erin Brockovich has joined Australian anti-mine activists in what they believe may be the fight of their lives.

Brockovich, who in the 1990s took on California power company Pacific Gas in a struggle turned into a Hollywood film starring Julia Roberts, added her weight this week to a possible class action suit against mining giant Alcoa in Western Australia state.
erin-brocovich.jpg
History, Brockovich said, might be repeating itself in the tiny town of Yarloop, south of Perth, where local residents have complained of health problems they blame on emissions from the nearby Alcoa bauxite refinery.

“We think we live in a big world but it’s really smaller than you think,” Brockovich told local media on Monday.

“Somebody from the area that was sick, from what they believe to be Alcoa, e-mailed me. I was intrigued with her illnesses and concerned at what she was suffering through.”

Alcoa said the company’s Wagerup refinery had been tested independently and found to be safe.

“Wagerup refinery meets the most stringent health and environmental standards in the world,” the company said in a statement, offering to brief Brockovich “on any matters that may be of interest to her.”

“Alcoa has nothing to hide and will continue to take a transparent and responsible approach to the public release of scientific information about the refinery,” the company said.

Brockovich won a U.S.-record $333 million from Pacific Gas after uncovering a scheme to conceal contamination of groundwater in the town of Hinkley. The saga was turned into the film Erin Brockovich, for which Roberts won an Oscar.

Yarloop residents told Brockovich they believed the Alcoa mine was causing breathing problems, skin irritation, chronic fatigue, mental problems, nosebleeds and even cancer over an 11-year period.

An Australian legal firm, Shine Lawyers, based in Queensland state on Australia’s east coast has offered to fight the case on behalf of 160 Yarloop residents on a no-win, no-cost basis.

“It’s far too early to start talking dollars. What we do know is, something has gone terribly wrong. In terms of how much money would compensate these people for what has happened, the short answer is as many dollars as it takes,” Shine Lawyers Partner Simon Morrison told Australian Associated Press.

“What we are about is not about shutting Alcoa down. It’s about accountability and for them to take full responsibility for what they’ve done,” Yarloop resident and Community Alliance for Positive Solutions action group chairman Vince Puccio said.

Italian filmmaker Antonioni dies at 94

Actors, Famous People, Movies, News, Oscar Winner, Pictures, Television, Thumb Down, VIP No Comments »

Michelangelo Antonioni, one of Italy’s most famous and influential filmmakers, has died at the age of 94, city officials in Rome said on Tuesday.

Considered the cinematic father of modern angst and alienation, Antonioni had a career spanning six decades which included the Oscar-nominated “Blowup” and the internationally acclaimed “L’Avventura” (The Adventure).

His death on Monday night followed that of Swedish film legend Ingmar Bergman, who died on Monday aged 89.

“With Antonioni, not only has one of the greatest living directors been lost, but also a master of the modern screen,” said Rome mayor Walter Veltroni. His office said it was making plans for Antonioni’s body to lie in state on Wednesday.

Antonioni’s deliberately slow-moving and oblique movies were not always crowd pleasers but films such as “L’Avventura” turned him into an icon for directors like Martin Scorsese, who has described him as a poet with a camera.

Antonioni was born in 1912 in the northern Italian city of Ferrara. He directed his first feature, “Cronaca di un amore” (”Story of a Love Affair”), in 1950 at the age of 38.
antonioni.jpg
Over the next two decades Antonioni worked with some of the greatest names in post-war Italian cinema like Marcello Mastroianni but it was not until the 1960s that he emerged on the international stage.

Despite winning favorable reviews at the 1957 Cannes Film Festival with “Il Grido” (”The Outcry”) he scored his first real international success in 1960 with “L’Avventura,” an exploration of the emotional sterility of modern society.

His second breakthrough picture came in 1966 with the English-language “Blowup,” set in “swinging 60s” London, which turned him into a cult figure for moviegoers and moviemakers.

Many audiences found his pictures, with their long lingering shots, plodding and pretentious. Others hailed him as one of the founding fathers of European avant-garde cinema.

Next came the disappointing “Zabriskie Point” in 1970 and “The Passenger,” starring Jack Nicholson, in 1975.

He continued working after suffering a paralyzing stroke in 1983.

He was awarded Venice’s Golden Lion in 1983 and a U.S. Academy Award in 1995 for his lifetime achievements.

Julia Roberts has been named the winner of the 2007 American Cinematheque award. The star was chosen unanimously by the non-profit organization’s selection committee that honors career achievements, Variety magazine reports. Roberts, who won an Oscar for Erin Brockovich in 2001, will collect the prize at a ceremony in Beverly Hills on October 12. Much deserved, I am a big fan. Now this should be a role model for those young Hollywood mishaps. Two movies of her that I’ve really liked are Notting Hills and Pretty Woman with Richard Gere. I hope this award only inspires her to go on acting and doing what she does best, being America’s sweetheart. Now though she is enjoying being a mother and mostly stays at home taking care of the kids. Acting is so many movies but she could land an Oscar only in 2001 for Erin Brockovich.

The makers of the Oscar-winning film “March of the Penguins” want to re-release the movie with Amitabh Bachchan’s baritone. Big B as he is known affectionately (coz he is still the boss of the Indian film industry) says: “My voice for the film has been a most wondrous and fruitful experience, especially since the first voiceover for that was done by the Hollywood luminary Morgan Freeman in English.” I now hear they want to re-release the film worldwide and have expressed a desire to go with my voice in the English version. I feel honoured.” Bachchan sometimes loves being present in films only through his voice, “Swami” being the most recent example. “Yes, the experience of doing voiceovers is wonderful. My first-ever film-connected credit title was for the voice-over in Mrinal Da’s film ‘Bhuvan Shome’; then several followed.” Amitabh has been waxed at the world famous wax museum of Madam Tussaud’s and his popularity his phenomenal with the young generation who think he is at 65, absolutely cool and trendy.

He has been nominated for an Oscar eight times but has failed to win it even once. An Oscar nomination itself is high recognition of one acting abilities and skills. Every year the best performance in a leading role is honored at the Academy Awards and this time veteran British actor Peter O’Toole is confident of winning the coveted Oscar, his first if it happens for Love and Vision. O’Toole who was lasted nominated for Venus, has also won an honorary Oscar in 2003. “This is my Oscar,” screenplay writer Mai Sperger quoted O’Toole saying after he accepted to play a part in the film. Love and Vision is set against the backdrop of the British monarch Charles the Great’s reign. A man must keep pursuing a dream until he achieves it, this is the only way to succeed and Peter will certainly win the Oscar someday. Hopefully he will get his due. We seen many times, some people receive recognition quite early in their carrier and some just have to slug it little longer for the same. Funny ways, God has to provide our wishes!

Sienna steps up for charity
Sienna Miller has donated a pair of her shoes in order to help raising money for the people suffering in Chad and the troubled Darfur region of Sudan.
Her donation is just a little part of many being made by a number of celebrities in what is Oxfam’s biggest ever celebrity and public auction.
Sir Elton John handed his tailor-made Donatella Versace suit which he wore to his white tie and tiara ball while Dame Helen Mirren has parted with her script for the Oscar-winning film The Queen.
There are many other interesting donations which include: signed photographs of the singer Jamelia, Tracey Emin artwork and the black leather jacket worn by Coldplay singer Chris Martin during the band’s Rush of Blood to the Head tour.
Explaining his support of the auction sir Elton said: “Try to imagine living in a tiny shelter made out of straw, dry branches, plastic sheeting with the sun baking down on you at 45 degrees. For most of us that’s beyond imagination.”
It’s great that such kind of auctions are organized because they could raise a lot of money and this way the people would realize that there are people who live in very bad conditions. Why don’t stop for a minute and think about that. Everybody could do something to help solving this problem.
