Jessica Simpson is turning into one big pile of wannabe. The 28-year old aspiring country singer recently revealed that her song ‘You’re My Sunday’ was written about her boyfriend Tony Romo. Was it written by Jessica for Tony or written for Jessica and just used Tony as inspiration? Jessica told Extra “He is a place of rest in my life and that’s what the song is about… It’s his favorite song on the record.” Wow! Tony survived having to listen to her album! I won’t be surprised if he’s going to have any focus problems during his games after finding out that he listened to her songs.

Singer Sarah McLachlan and her husband of 11 years, the drummer in her band, have split. I guess she’s going to find a new drummer. Sarah is sharing her grief with her fans through two new songs so the split is doing a bit of good when it comes to her music. ‘U Want Me 2’ and ‘Don’t Give Up On Us’. The singer says that the situation is pretty gross but she did not elaborate on the reasons for why they split. The couple have two young daughters together. Keep your head up Sarah! Just keep doing music so you won’t feel too bad.

Christina Aguilera’s new ‘Rock the Vote’ public service announcement has just hit the airwaves. The 27-year old powerhouse singer is features cradling her now 6-month old son Max Liron, swaddled in the American flag, as she sings the a capella version of ‘America the Beautiful’. ‘Rock the Vote’ works to engage the youth in the political process by incorporating the entertainment community and youth culture into its activities. With the importance of this year’s elections, having some of the most influential figures for the younger generation featured in the PSAs should hopefully prove to be helpful.

Sir Elton John has told in an emotional TV interview how his pal Princess Diana was “airy fairy” with her true friends.

Elton, 61 – who became so choked with grief he halted filming – said: “I think in the end she trusted the wrong people. The people that really felt for her, and really were true to her, she just was a bit airy fairy towards in the end.”

Elton recalled how he struggled to keep his composure as he performed Candle In The Wind at Di’s funeral.

He said: “It was one of the most surreal things I have ever done. What was going through my mind was, ‘Don’t f*** this up. Be stoic. Don’t break down’.”

The star was played footage of the moment by producers of US show RocDoc: Me, Myself and I. Unable to go on, he pleaded to cameramen: “Can you stop? Thanks.”

Benji Madden has written a love song for Paris Hilton.

The Good Charlotte rocker penned ‘Shine Your Light’ in tribute to his girlfriend, who he has been dating for two months. Describing it as the ’sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me’, Paris revealed: “He actually wrote me a beautiful song, and recorded it in the studio. He surprised me with it. It’s this really beautiful love song about me.’

The 27-year-old socialite has also revealed being with Benji has totally changed her life. She explained: “He’s just different from any guy that I’ve ever been with. I trust him completely, and I know that he’d be there for me, no matter what. My life’s a lot different now, I’m very much at peace, and I’m so happy, and in control, and so very excited about life.”

Benji’s brother Joel is dating Paris’ best friend Nicole Richie. The couple have a three-month-old daughter, Harlow Winter.

There’s no doubt that Madonna is way hotter than most 50 year old ladies all over the world but she still needs to rely on a few tricks of the trade so she can look pristine perfect. Those tricks came in handy for the Queen of Pop for her latest music video with Justin Timberlake ‘4 Minutes (To Save the World)’. She reportedly used soft focus lenses, exquisite lighting and maybe even a bit of airbrushing just so she could look great on the video. And of course, there’s that caked on make up which you can hardly tell was caked on because she was so blown out by the lights.

New mom Christina Aguilera just posted this cute graphic on her official website and finally gave us details about her happy baby news. Max Liron Bratman was born on Saturday night and not Friday like originally reported. She also posted a message and a video for all her fans.

The singer put together a special video for the song ‘Save Me From Myself’ which came off of her ‘Back to Basics’ album. The video even features actual footage from her and husband Jordan’s personal wedding video. Christina says that it was a little something to say ‘thank you’ for the undying love and support.

Along with touring the world for their reunion tour, the Spice Girls are also filming a documentary about their reforming called ‘Giving You Everything’. A sneak peek of the documentary has made its way on the internet and it features some very raw moments.You can see a very emotional Ginger breaking down in tears. There’s also a blunt Sporty talking about Geri’s departure from the band saying “she could have really fucked things up for us”. Just from that sneak peek, you can tell that the documentary is pretty much a very raw and candid look at all the girls. It goes away from seeing the high-profile celebrities that they are and is quite a tell all.

Geri Halliwell of Spice Girls fame and her 14-month old daughter Bluebell Madonna arrived at France’s Nice Airport on Wednesday. Bluebell adorably took some baby steps and showed her affection for her mom’s cell phone.

Geri is about to turn 35 on Monday and has been a health freak as of late so that she can stay at tip-top shape for the upcoming Spice Girl’s world tour. It seems like she and Bluebell have something in common because the singer admits to still being nervous about the tour so she’s taking baby steps to getting herself in the right mindset.

Geri says that she won’t be able to tell how it feels until she sets foot on that stage and starts to sing.

Mariah has left one of her infamous long voice messages on her official website. In the long recording, Mariah talks about what she’s been up to since she last checked in with a message.

Apparently, the reason she hasn’t left any messages for a while is because she’s on vocal rest when she has free time so that she can get back in the studio for ’20 billion hours’. She also mentioned the reason for her call and that was because she realized how fantastic her fans were for sending her letters that made her happy.

She also mentions her Tennessee performance that she can’t really talk about, how happy she is with how her fragrance came out and the nice songs she’s been working on. Looks like she’s been a busy little bee.

Dolly Parton has joked her famous breasts will rise like mountains from her grave when she is dead and buried.
The “I Will Always Love You” singer hopes fans visiting her final resting place will make pilgrimages by mule to the peaks of her mammary mounds.
Dolly said: “I can just see two big mountains growing up out of my grave, and people going around on mule rides to look at them.
“Throughout my whole career, I’ve been known for two things –I’m talking about my music and my lyrics!”

Dolly added: “Songwriting is my favorite thing to do. It is my private time with God. That’s when I feel closest to God even when the songs I’m writing are just God-awful.”

Also present were new inductees Jackson Browne who wrote ‘Running on Empty’ and Don Black, who wrote the lyrics for “Born Free” which won an Oscar for Best Original Song after featuring in the 1967 film of the same name.
Michael Masser, who wrote “Touch Me in the Morning” and Irving Burgie, who wrote “Day-O”, songwriter and entertainer John Legend and music publisher and producer Don Kirschner were also inducted at a ceremony.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame was founded in 1969 to celebrate and promote songwriting talent.
Previous inductees include Carole King, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Sir Elton John, Bernie Taupin, Brian Wilson, James Taylor, James Brown, Hal David and Burt Bacharach.

They say music tames the savage beast.  Perhaps it also can unite people about a common tragedy.  At least that is what R Kelly is banking on. In tribute to the victims and their families, R Kelly has written “Rise Up” a charity single.  All proceeds from the sale of the song will go to the families that have lose so much.  His new album is due out May 29^th, and people are speculating the Double Up will also have the new single on it.

 To hear a snippet of the song, check out R Kelly’s MySpace here.  Listening to it, I’m not exactly how many copies of such a mediocre song will actually sell.  While there check out the pics of the singer in one of the oddest looking leather jackets I’ve ever seen.  It looks like a crocodile crawled up on his chest and died.  Seriously, that’s what you chose to wear to work that day?  Maybe this good press will counteract his desire to piss on little girls.  Who knows.

These days Justin said that he is in Britain to help Madona for her new hip-hop album and will write songs for her. It looks like despite the competition the stars are helping each other. I think this is great because Madona and Justin for example have achieved much in their career and this collaboration can not threaten their success.

Actually I have discovered that the singers are making more and more duets now. For an example: Beyonce and Shakira, Timbaland and Justin and many others. It looks it has become fashionable to make a duet or have another guest singer in your song.

And about Justin and Madona, I hope she’ll release the album as soon as possible.

Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, and Pharrell Williams are among the collaborators working on the new Madonna album, according to reports.

The star-studded roll call of musicians are understood to be writing and producing songs for the follow-up to 2005’s Confessions On A Dancefloor.

Speaking about the new material, which is due for release by the end of 2007, Justin confirmed: “I have been working on some new music.

“But it’s not for myself–I’m writing for other people. I’m working on some stuff for Madonna,” he explained after apparently going into a West London studio with the pop icon.

Felix Da Housecat is also rumored to be working on the LP, although there is no confirmation if Stuart Price, who produced the last Madonna album, is involved.

A “source” told London parer The Sun: “Confessions was a worldwide smash–but this will be different once again. The last album was a credible disco record and Madonna wants to give hip-hop the same treatment this time.

“It’s not all hip-hop though, there are a lot of producers from a lot of genres in there. It could be her most ambitious project yet.”

The success of Red Hot Chili Peppers begins when an unknown guitarist, John Fruciante, joined the band in 1988. The release of Mothers Milk helped break the group in America with their cover of the Stevie Wonder classic “Higher Ground”. They soon became regulars on MTV and in the early 90s, as the underground moved into the mainstream, the Chili Peppers, like Nirvana, REM and Sonic Youth, benefited from this shift of music.After the release of Blood Sugar Sex Magik the Chili Peppers became one of the worlds biggest bands. The album spawned hits such as “Give It Away”, “Under The Bridge” and “Suck My Kiss”.

Their sound was noisy and funky and grungy and to many fans this album was seen as their high point. Many believe that they have never been able to recapture that magic. But bands that stay stagnant and create the same sound album after album only end up like Oasis.At the height of their success guitarist John Frusciante left and Dave Navaro was recruited as replacement. One Hot Minute was the sound of the band trying to recapture the sound of Blood Sugar Sex Magic and is seen as a low point in their career. Only “My Friends” appears from that period and for a while the world almost forgot about the Chili Peppers.Then Dave left the band and John returned and in 1999 the band released Californication. The sound was softer and more melodic, yet they still retained that sound that made them, well them. “Scar Tissue”, “Otherside” and “Californication”were withoutdoubt Chili Pepper songs, but taken to a different place. Some thought they had sold out. But they hadn’t sold out, they were evolving.

When By the Way was released last year the sound of the band had shifted further away form the bass lines of Flea to the guitar melodies of John. The album was based on The Smiths and Neu! instead of Gang of Four and Bad Brains.The Chili Peppers have become a band famous for strong, anthemic songs rather than the punk-funk sounds characteristic of their early sound.Personally I’m disappointed in the song selection as it favours Blood Sugar Sex Magic and Californication rather than being a well-balanced and truly representative sample from their back-catalogue. But as a hits compilation rather than a retrospective CD, it does what it says on the tin, and is an enjoyable listen in spite of the obvious track selections.Review courtesy of 6 Music
