Carly Smithson was the latest American Idol contestant to get the boot but before the elimination even happened, Idol message boards were abuzz that the castoff was going to be Jason Castro. Who would leak such a thing? Allegedly, it was Ryan Seacrest. An email exchange posted on a fan site points at Ryan saying that he blabbed that it was going to be Jason who’s leaving the show. While Ryan once said that he finds out who gets to go home the morning of the show, the truth is that only the two executive producers know who’s voted off.

You know, these two are on-again, off-again. This time, they are on-again. Rumors are flying now that they are engaged and have been telling friends that they can’t wait to get married.

Morgan’s rep isn’t making a comment right now. If the couple does get married, they will be husband and wife both on screen in Weeds and off. Morgan will join Parker’s family with her son William and her recently adopted African daughter.

Now that Cher is getting ready for a comeback, we need to prepare for her commenting on other worldly stuff as well. She recently spoke to TV’s Extra about her thoughts on the presidential candidates and pretty much said who she’s rooting for.

She said “I like Hillary. I think she’d make the best president. I think [Barack]’s a good man. I think he’s altruistic. I think he’s smart. I think at some point he can be a great leader. I just don’t think it’s now.” What do you think? Is Cher a good judge of character or just being a feminist?

Yeah! The Oscars are saved. After watching months of reruns and the cancellation of the Golden Globes, we can breathe a sign of relief.

Hollywood producers have finally decided to give the writers who have been on strike some of the profit that their writing might make online.

Writers Guild of American president Patric M. Verrone announced Sunday afternoon, “We have reached a historic agreement that covers new media for writers and guarantees our share in the future. This morning, based on the unanimous recommendation of the WGA negotiating committee, the WGA has called for a contract ratification vote by the membership.”

Rosie’s always been a little outspoken, and now she’s aiming that at Britney Spears and her family. She blames Britney’s early stardom for her meltdowns. We all know that celebrities can be just like regular people and love some karaoke. A couple of stars proved just that for Ellen DeGeneres’ 50th birthday celebration on Friday. The talk show host’s birthday was actually on Saturday, so, Happy Birthday Ellen!.

Stars on the video sang to the tune of Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’. Jake Gyllenhaal did a little lip synching and booty-shaking to it. Other celebrities who joined in on the fun were Victoria Beckham, Queen Latifah, Kate Walsh, Jamie Foxx, Paris Hilton, Sharon Osbourne, David Spade, Heidi Klum, Masi Oka and Celine Dion. It’s quite a funny clip.

It’s almost that time, and I can’t think of anything I’d rather watch. Umm, except maybe a trainwreck.

Popular TV and radion host, formerly of MTV’s Lovelines, Dr. Drew Pinsky says he’s ready to set his Celebrity Rehab plans into action. He is showing all of us the process of rehab, with the help of a few celebrities.

So far, he’s working with people like Daniel Baldwin, Jessica Sierra, and Chyna. He says patient Brigitte Nielsen has already quit both drinking and smoking. But it’s not all roses for everyone. Jessica Sierra recently had a setback, and he can’t even get her to his treatment facility in California because she cannot leave the state of Florida for 45 days.

Dr. Drew says he’s not trying to glamorize things but instead wants to show all of us that it is a difficult process to become and remain sober.

Well I know that every guy I spoke to regarding TV plans for Christmas day had scheduled a viewing of the Dr Who special. Most of them had never shown an interest in the series before. I was puzzled, until I realised that this was the episode Kylie Minogue was to make an appearance in.

It seems that the majority of the male population thought the same too. Kylie’s guest appearance on the show boosted ratings higher than they have ever been since its revival.

A massive 12.2 million people tuned in to watch the Dr Who special; which is half the available audience. An upgrade on last year where the Christmas special managed to lure in 37% of the audience.

Whether her acting was any good I couldn’t tell you. Personally I was too busy doing what you do best at Christmas – eating lots of chocolate. Good or not it seemed to do the job though.

So, are you worried that the Golden Globe’s won’t take place because of the writer’s strike? Not if Alec Baldwin can help it.

Alec has graciously offered to let everyone hang out in his apartment for the show. Remember he is up for a Golden Globe for his show 30 Rock.

I remember sitting up, watching reruns, and dreaming about marrying the hunky Scott Baio. Of course, that was before I realized that he was more my mom’s age than my own.

For those of you who watch reality TV, you may have seen VH1’s reality show featuring Scott. It was called, simply, Scott Baio is 45…and Single. Sad life.

Well, now he’s not quite so single anymore. (Not to mention the fact that he’s now 46!). Scott finally married longtime sweethear Renee Sloan. They had small, private ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday.

At the wedding were close friends and family, including Renee’s 18-year-old daughter from a previous relationship and Scott and Renee’s newborn daughter, whose name is still unknown by the media.

Scott and Renee met years ago at the Playboy Mansion and dated off and on throughout the late 1990s. They remained friends and became romantically involved again about two years ago. In the past Scott didn’t think he was marriage material. Now, however, he’s in for life.

It isn’t every day that you can get the President of the United States on the line. But that’s just what Ellen did when she had Jenna Bush as a guest on her Wednesday show. The show was actually taped on Tuesday.Ellen prodded Jenna into calling her parents live from the show taping. She asked if Jenna could get her parents on the phone at any time. Jenna responded that she usually called in the morning or evening when she knew they would both be home.

Carefully covering the phone so no one can see the private number, Jenna finally agrees to call her parents. She jokingly says, “I’m not going to get anything I asked for for Christmas.”

Jenna finally gets through to First Lady Laura Bush. After talking to her for a moment, Jenna gets to talk to her father. The President comes to the phone, and his daughter says, “This is the Ellen Degeneres Show”.

Though surprised, he willingly talks to them both.

She may be the cause for the early demise of the Pussycat Dolls but Nicole Scherzinger is still a performer. The lead Pussycat Doll turned solo artist was carried on to the stage for her performance at ‘Movies Rock: A Celebration of Music in Film’ which was held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday.The 29-year old singer gave a surprise performance of ‘Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend’ which was famously performed by Marilyn Monroe in the 1953 film ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’. Nicole even wore a pink dress similar to that of the blonde bombshell’s.

After Marie Osmond’s dollface was given the boot, the competition on Dancing with the Stars came down to race car driver Helio Castroneves and his partner Julianne Hough and Spice Girl Melanie Brown and her partnerMaksim Chmerkovskiy.

At the start of the final showdown, Castroneves was in second place, a mere one point behind Scary Spice. However, his quickstep on Tuesday night earned him a perfect score of 30.

After combining the scores from the judges with votes from viewers, it was determined that Castroneves had earned the mirroball trophy as the winner of this fifth season of DWTS.

His response? “It will look so good between my two Indy 500 trophies.”

It was a first place finish for him once again.

It’s funny I think “exhaustion” is an affliction that only Hollywood people get, because I don’t know any normal people who have ever been hospitalized for exhaustion. Let’s also keep in mind that these people are extremely pampered and get paid huge sums of money to do little to nothing. They all eat very well and they even do not shoot under the burning sun, they have the best luxuries that even some other millionaires would never feel like using, they get the best hotels, best dresses and they are never made to work hard to the extent of exhaustion. They work for months but it shifts, like if they are working in the wee hours of the morning then they will not be asked to shoot in the night again. Have to seen or rather read the diva request that Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna make when they are to perform at a venue, the reps and staff reach that hotel before hand and hand them a list of requirements to tea time, wake up time, sea food and the list goes on and on. So exhaustion is really not the case and drugs overdose is the only thing that’s made her to go to the hospital.

Actress Julia Roberts knew she was destined to marry Danny Moder from the moment they met - because her body told her so. Rosie O’Donnell is planning to broadcast a new show on her website, just days after scrapping her TV comeback. The star had started negotiations to front a new talk show on cable network MSNBC that would compete directly with CNN icon Larry King’s nightly broadcast. But O’Donnell revealed the deal is off earlier this week. She is just a big mouthed bully. She has nothing nice to say about anyone anymore. She has become so mean, who in their right mind wants to listen to her? She has shown she really isn’t too bright; her arguments really make no sense. I think that picture of her poor kid dressed up with a gun says it all. She can protest anything she wants, but then turn around and say, oh well its ok for my kid to play with it for now. She just sucks.

The bottom line is how good she is in the sack. We are all just guessing. I would take a girl who is not quite as hot as the others if she was better in the sack. JLH is attractive, but she isn’t attractive enough to where if she is not good in the sack she can overcome it via her looks. There are a few women that are so good looking that they can just lay there and it is worth it but JLH is not one of them. She’s trying a little too hard, but she looks lovely just the same. Actress Demi Moore has blasted Hollywood for its ageist culture, insisting the best roles are offered to stars under the age of 40. Demi! You are over the hill! Why did you spend $440,000 on cosmetic surgery? It’s not how old you are. And not how old you look. And you look like a piece of leather, real stiff. Demi, you never were a really good actor, maybe that’s why you don’t have any good parts coming your way. What does she want now after being given so many opportunities, she acted and she’s proved at least to others that she can’t act. She needs to sit and watch some of her movies from a critics angle and then judge her performances for herself and then if she’s even half true to herself she’ll never come out and say that there are no roles for her or no ones giving her the chance to act in the movies. There are a lot many actresses well beyond 40 years of age and yet they have performed so well for the role that they are given which goes on to fetch them Oscar nominations, bet you can’t do that.

After a turbulent year behind the scenes, Ellen Pompeo now gives the mood on the set of Grey’s Anatomy a clean bill of health – though things have changed with the departure of cast members Kate Walsh and Isaiah Washington.

“It does feel different,” Pompeo told at L.A. Confidential magazine’s annual Emmy party, celebrating her cover shoot. “I love change. I think when one door opens or closes, another one opens. The seasons change and everything changes and I think change is good.”

“It’s good to turn over the dirt,” she continued of the show’s fourth season. “It feels nice and there’s new beginnings for everybody and it feels great.”

Walsh now has her own spin-off, Private Practice, and Washington will appear on the new show Bionic Woman after his firing from Grey’s in the controversy over his use of a homophobic slur.

“They’re missed, of course,” says Pompeo. “But I’m also very happy and very hopeful for their new beginnings. You know, they’re both taking on whole new chapters in their careers, which I think is really exciting for them. So, to sort of think about how it affects us is rather selfish. We just have to hope that their new endeavors are as successful, and I just wish them the best.”

Pompeo’s feelings were seconded by her Emmy-nominated co-star T.R. Knight. “It’s been going really well,” he told Sunday at a party celebrating the Emmy-nominated television producers, including Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes.

Though Knight said he’s excited to be working new cast member Chyler Leigh, he is missing his pal, Walsh.

“I just went to her wedding this weekend and so luckily we’ll still see her, but what she brought to the show and on set and her humor we’ll miss her a lot,” Knight said.

Pompeo was joined at the L.A. Confidential party by her finacé, music executive Chris Ivery. The actress said she and Ivery aren’t in the midst of any wedding plans, and don’t expect to have a traditional ceremony.

“To me a wedding is a piece of paper,” she said. “I don’t think it’s going to change how we feel about each other. Every day is like a wedding when I wake up with him. We just have something so special. I don’t need a big dress or four hundred people there to declare my love. I think we declare it every day to each other. So that’s just our way. Different for different people.”

Bryn Terfel has pulled out of his highly anticipated appearance in the Royal Opera’s production of Wagner’s “Ring” cycle, citing “a particularly stressful family situation” involving one of his children.

The Welsh bass-baritone was to have sung Wotan/The Wanderer in the performances scheduled for next month. It was supposed to have been his first performance in a complete Ring Cycle.

“I have had a particularly stressful family situation involving one of my children this summer which has affected the time I had put aside to prepare for this challenging role,” Terfel said in a statement carried by the Opera’s Web site. “Having begun rehearsals it is clear to me that I would not be able to perform at the standard I would wish to.”

The nature of the problem was not disclosed. The Times of London newspaper reported that the performance had been sold out for more than a year, with some tickets for the entire four-opera cycle going for as much as $1,610.

“The Royal Opera expressed shock and surprise at Bryn Terfel’s cancellation, acknowledging the disappointment it will bring to audiences who were looking forward to seeing him perform in a complete Ring Cycle for the first time,” the company said on its Web site.

The company said Terfel would be replaced by award-winning singer Sir John Tomlinson, with whom Terfel had been due to share the role.

Terfel sang Wotan for the first time in “Das Rheingold” and “Die Walkuere” during the 2004-5 season in the Royal Opera’s production by Keith Warner.

He also is slated to sing Wotan in the Metropolitan Opera’s performance of the Ring cycle, scheduled for 2012.

Jeremy Piven, who plays ambitious Hollywood agent Ari Gold on HBO’s “Entourage,” will portray a used-car liquidator in a comedy feature.

“The Goods: The Don Ready Story” is the first comedy Paramount Vantage has green-lighted under its deal with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Prods.

Piven will play a character who’s hired to save a struggling car dealership during a Fourth of July weekend sale. Neal Brennan will direct the feature, which was written by Rick Stempson and Andy Stock.

Brennan wrote, produced, directed and co-created Comedy Central’s Emmy-nominated “Chappelle’s Show” with Dave Chappelle.

Piven won an Emmy and received two Golden Globe nominations for his work on HBO’s “Entourage.” He next will appear in director Peter Berg’s political drama “The Kingdom” and recently completed production on Guy Ritchie’s “RocknRolla.”

Quick, can you name the only actor who has appeared in both “A Clockwork Orange” and the “Mr. Magoo” movie; played David Cassidy’s dad in a TV biopic and Mr. Roarke in a “Fantasy Island” remake. Maybe you’re beginning to appreciate Malcolm McDowell, the Hollywood veteran who recently added roles as the boss man on “Heroes” and the new Dr. Loomis in “Halloween” to his stunningly eclectic resume. Some people are so lucky to have done some of the most amazing movies and yet there are not so much heard of and written about. Now this is what I would call a truly charismatic personality, he just goes about his work with such grace and has proved that celebs of today have fallen prey to media attention rahter than doing some good clean acting. But there are more and more sequels that are being made today than ever before and more and more of remakes of past hits. Hopefully. I hope I’m not around to see the remake of “A Clockwork Orange.” He said.

The American footballer has admitted to funding a dog fighting operation as part of a plea agreement to lighten a possible prison sentence. That is BS! That guy Michael Vick he has plenty of money! The ex-husband of Britney Spears has been fired from an upcoming film starring Keanu Reeves. The dancer turned wannabe actor reportedly had a small role in the film titled “The Night Watchman”. It’s reported that he has been fired but was not informed of his dismissal until he showed up for wardrobe. That’s incredibly unprofessional and rude to wait that long to tell somebody they no longer have a job. Federline’s people have declined to comment but a rep for Fox Searchlight denies that he ever had a role in the film at all. Kevin Federline has really been dished his share of crap over the last year or two. I don’t think he’s ever going to get a fair shake in Hollywood. The labels will always hang over his head. Perhaps he should say goodbye to Tinsel Town and try to raise his kids in a normal life. Get out before it’s too late.

Now when that’s the kind of money on offer then it was very obvious that she was saying in the best interest of the company – the perfume was the first ever ‘women’ perfume she wore, with that she has proved that she will be a great brand ambassador for the company. But we want to see the steamy photos rather than hear about the perfume.

The executive producer of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Bob Shaye is insistent that Peter Jackson will be involved in the making of the prequel. This comes after a series of declarations that Jackson would never work on The Hobbit. The two had a high profile public falling out over the profits generated by the famous trilogy. However, Shaye is now changing his tune and saying that Jackson should have an input on The Hobbit after all. I’m guessing it’s because he’s realized how much of the trilogy’s success is owed to Jackson and he wants to ensure the same for the prequel. Shaye says that he has a great respect for Peter and wants to see him involved in the creative process. Spiderman director Sam Raimi is supposed to directing the film. We all know that a huge part of Lord of the Rings was what Jackson brought to it. It’s not surprising that they would do whatever they can to ensure he is a part of this. I think it would be in the best interest of the film itself and the movie goers that Jackson be involved as well.
