Gospel singer BeBe Winans has been banned from appearing on Oprah in the future after his ex-wife branded the chatshow host a ‘moral hypocrite’.

Winans’ ex-wife Debra complained after Oprah featured the famous singer on her show last week, even though he has a pending trial on domestic abuse charge.

Debra was upset that Oprah had taken a hard moral stance on Chris Brown, refusing to let him on her show after he beat then-girlfriend Rihanna.

But after Oprah let Winans on the show, Debra spoke out to reveal she was ‘hurt’ by the decision.

Winans is facing misdemeanour assault charges, stemming from an alleged fight with his ex, Debra, whom he is accused of pushing to the ground.

However, after Debra complained, Oprah acted swiftly and released a statement: “BeBe will not be appearing on the Oprah show until his legal matters are resolved in court.”

Winans is due back in court in January.

The 53-year-old was competing on the British show with professional dancer Brendan Cole, but received the lowest samba score in history and only got 14 points from the judges.

Jo, whose Rolling Stones hubby Ronnie left her last year, competed in the show’s dance-off against athlete Jade Johnson after they both received the lowest number of votes.

Jo said to the show’s hosts Tess Daly and Bruce Forsyth: “I’m surprised I lasted this long.”

The star also revealed that she would be appearing on dance partner Brendan’s upcoming UK dance tour.

Blagojevich is starring in Donald Trump’s high-profile US TV show – despite still being involved in court proceedings, after he was accused of trying to sell the US Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama.

Prosecutors in Illinois fear that he could use the show to say things that could prejudice potential jurors involved in the case, and claimed that he was “repeatedly commenting on the evidence of this case, often inaccurately” during his previous appearances on US chat shows.

They are now seeking legal powers to limit what he can say on the ratings-grabbing NBC show.

Blagojevich, who has pleaded not guilty to 16 charges, has already been snapped filming scenes for the show alongside fellow contestants including Sharon Osbourne and Cyndi Lauper.

Federal District Court Judge James Zagel agreed with prosecutors that Blagojevich’s comments on the show could complicate the trial.

“There are significant confessional elements,” said Zagel, noting that he had seen two earlier episodes.

He did not bar Blagojevich from the show, but asked prosecutors and defence lawyers to reach an agreement regarding his conduct.

“This is the first time I’ve ever heard [prosecutors] ask to shut a defendant up,” said Blagojevich’s lawyer Sam Adam Jr outside the court.

The actor, who plays Roger Sterling in the hit TV drama, is angry at the $346m sanitation department plan.

It would see a garage complex built near the city’s West Side Highway to store the city’s garbage trucks.

But neighbours say that the SoHo depot will increase traffic and risk pedestrian safety.

“There are a lot of families in the neighbourhood, and they haven’t been taken into account in the designing of this facility,” said Slattery.

“The air quality, the traffic, the noise (are all) going to be affected.

“There are people who have been living here for years.

“It’s not a bunch of wealthy people who are just complaining that their views are going to be blocked.

“It’s the actual livability of the neighbourhood.”

Musicians Lou Reed and Michael Stipe and actors James Gandolfini, Kirsten Dunst, Paul Bettany and Casey Affleck already oppose the scheme.

President Barack Obama showed his good humour as he was given a heart-shaped potato during an interview on a late night talk show.

He also played down stories that racism had a part in people’s opposition to his policies – noting he was already black long before being elected.

The US president has been making a blitz of appearances on television as he bids to persuade Americans on the benefits of his controversial healthcare reform plans.

But, after a rapturous reception by the audience at the Late Show with David Letterman, Obama started off on a light-hearted note.

The host had earlier ridiculed an audience member for bringing to his attention she had a heart-shaped potato with her.

Obama riffed on the quip by saying that was the actual reason for coming on the show.

He said: “The main reason I am here? I wanna see that heart-shaped potato.”

Letterman handed the potato to Obama, who looked at it and smiled as he said: “That’s remarkable. This is remarkable.”

He then, with the audience member’s consent, kept the potato.

House star Hugh Laurie said his character in the show is “endlessly interesting” to him.

Hugh, 50, plays the role of grumpy Dr Gregory House in the hit series and was nominated for the Best Actor Emmy for the third year in a row.

He said at the launch of the sixth season of the show: “I like lots of things about him. I think he’s funny. He’s endlessly interesting to me.

“He may not be the nicest man in the world, he may occasionally be mean but he’s never boring. At least not to me. That’s one of the things I love about him.”

However, there is one part of the character he can’t stand – his voice. He said: “The voice in particular, I don’t like it. I don’t think anyone likes the sound of their own voice.”

Doctor Who star David Tennant has been voted as the ideal headteacher by primary school children.

David, 38, plays the Time Lord in the hit show but will leave later this year when the new doctor Matt Smith takes over.

The primary school children were asked to pick their dream headteacher and David beat off competition from Harry Potter author JK Rowling, US president Barack Obama and Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole.

Almost half of the children, aged between nine to eleven, said they chose their celebrity because they were the most fun. Whereas 33 per cent of kids said they chose “someone they could look up to”.

The survey was commissioned by the National College for the Leadership of Schools and Children’s Services.

National College’s chief executive Steve Munby said: “Being a head is a tough but extremely rewarding job, but you don’t need to be a Time Lord to make a difference to children’s lives.

“I’m not surprised to see David Tennant at the top of the list, alongside positive feedback about their own heads, who are obviously role models in their own right.”

Tom Cruise and his Wichita co-star Cameron Diaz faced five potentially embarrassing questions each for a segment called Ten @ Ten on The Jay Leno Show, which airs at 10pm in the US.

Diaz was first asked what the first Tom Cruise movie she watched was. She said: “Erm, Top Gun. I won’t forget it.”

Cruise was then told to recite a line from the film, “with feeling”. He replied: “I feel the need, the need… The audience then shouted: “For speed!”

But things got slightly awkward when Leno asked Diaz: “Who spends more time in the make-up chair, you or Tom?”

Both groaned: “Come on, please!” Diaz joked: “Clearly me, Jay. Those [Tom's] cheeks are fresh and real.”

Then Leno asked: “Have you ever been to a strip club?” Cruise replied: “Actually I never have been.”

For the final question, Leno asked: “I know you’re a pilot, what are you better at – flying or sex?”

Cruise, 47, squirmed in his chair and leaned back and forth before answering: “You know what, I don’t know.”

Putting on a brave face, he kept grinning and said: “I try to excel in all areas and I’ve never been asked for a refund, so I don’t know.”

Tonioli, who is close friends with Phillips, 66, who was given the boot and replaced with singer Alesha Dixon, 30, told GMTV: “I am a very, very good friend of Arlene. She’s got loads of projects, she’s a very resourceful lady and there’s a lot of things are going to happen with Arlene. She’s still involved in the show in some ways.

“She’s one of my best friends, I speak to her every week and she’s got so much new stuff coming up.”

Former Girls Next Door star Bridget Marquardt is reportedly considering a spin-off reality show similar to her pal Kendra Wilkinson’s series.

Marquardt, 35, left the Playboy Mansion last year along with Hugh Hefner’s other two girlfriends – Wilkinson, 23, and Holly Madison, 29.

Marquardt is reportedly moving in with her boyfriend Nick Carpenter and she admitted there is talk of a similar show to Wilkinson’s.

She said: “We’ve talked about the possibility of doing a spin-off show similar to what Kendra [Wilkinson] is doing. We’ll see.”

Marquardt also spoke about reality stars Jon and Kate Gosselin’s bitter split. She said: “I personally don’t think it necessarily had to do with the reality show. I think he was unhappy with his marriage and the situation to begin with…”

The stars of hit US sitcom Seinfeld are set to reunite – on another TV comedy.

Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Richards, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander will all appear on Curb Your Enthusiasm – the programme with which Seinfeld creator Larry David found fame after Seinfeld ended in 1998.

“I have always said there is not going to be a reunion show. They are lame,” Larry David told a US newspaper.

He added: “Then I started to think ‘What if I did this so called reunion show on Curb?’

“And this idea really resonated with me.”

David says the new season – set to debut in the US in September – will catch up with the New York pals in the present day as they prepare and rehearse for a fictional episode of the popular sitcom, in a five-episode story arc.

Other popular characters from Seinfeld’s eight-year run are expected to appear.

It will mark the first time the prime-time stars have worked together since the series ended.

Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler is set to replace Betty in the next season of US sitcom Ugly Betty.

Jamie-Lynn, 28, is set to become Mode boss Daniel Meade’s sexy, funny and spiritual new assistant called Natalie.

Natalie will replace Betty, played by America Ferrera, as the new assistant after Betty was promoted to features editor in the season finale in May.

Jamie-Lynn will be seen taking over the role from Betty in the season 4 premiere on October 9, which will be a two-hour special.

It was recently reported that rumours that Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle will be making an appearance in the show are untrue.

Cat Deeley has admitted she is the “clumsiest person going” and “beyond help” on the dancefloor.

The Brit stunned a US late-night talk show host when she pointed out bruises on her long legs.

Deeley said that, despite presenting US television hit So You Think You Can Dance, she definitely cannot dance herself.

“Absolutely not,” she told Conan O’Brien. “By no means, shape or form.

“If I started to dance on screen, people would bleed from their eyes. I’m doing the American public a favour by not trying. The choreographers walk past me and think ‘she’s beyond help’.”

To laughter from the host and the audience, she then said the only move she has is “this shoulder shimmy” as she shrugged her shoulders and moved her arms from side to side slightly.

“It’s sensible (not to dance) because I’m the clumsiest person going,” she added. “I mean I’m too tall, I’m not in control of my flailing limbs.”

Deeley said: “I’ve got cuts and bruises all over me. I’ve got cuts on my legs and burns.”

“That was from a police motorbike, that one,” she continued as the host ogled her legs. “That was burned by the exhaust.”

The usually chatty O’Brien was so taken aback he decided not to enquire further.

“Ok I don’t even want to know what happened,” he said as he tried to regain his composure.

The Office star Jenna Fischer and writer Lee Kirk are engaged.

The actress, 35, and 37-year-old Kirk got engaged while on vacation in Europe.

In September last year, Fischer called Kirk my ’super-cute boyfriend’.

Fischer is well-known for her role in The Office as Pam Beesly.

Of her role she once quipped: “Being dialed down didn’t bother me until the first time I saw myself in high definition.

“I was shocked. You see every pore. I was like, ‘Wow, maybe we do want a little more of the under-eye concealer next week.’”

She was previously married to director James Gunn but they divorced in 2007, while this will be Kirk’s first marriage.
