Gospel singer BeBe Winans has been banned from appearing on Oprah in the future after his ex-wife branded the chatshow host a ‘moral hypocrite’.

Winans’ ex-wife Debra complained after Oprah featured the famous singer on her show last week, even though he has a pending trial on domestic abuse charge.

Debra was upset that Oprah had taken a hard moral stance on Chris Brown, refusing to let him on her show after he beat then-girlfriend Rihanna.

But after Oprah let Winans on the show, Debra spoke out to reveal she was ‘hurt’ by the decision.

Winans is facing misdemeanour assault charges, stemming from an alleged fight with his ex, Debra, whom he is accused of pushing to the ground.

However, after Debra complained, Oprah acted swiftly and released a statement: “BeBe will not be appearing on the Oprah show until his legal matters are resolved in court.”

Winans is due back in court in January.

The wife of media magnate Rupert Murdoch will produce an English-language Chinese drama starring Zhang Ziyi, who, some say, is China’s hottest female acting star.

The film, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, tells the 19th-century story of the lifetime friendship of Lily and Snow Flower, who were subject to the strict codes governing the women of the times. Wendi Murdoch, a China-born former news executive and beauty, will produce the movie along with the Malaysian-Chinese wife of MGM chairman Harry Sloan, Florence.

Zhang won acclaim in 2005’s Memoirs of a Geisha.

She will also produce, while Wayne Wang of Joy Luck Club fame will direct.

Lindsay Lohan’s dad Michael has claimed God is punishing his troubled daughter.

The father-of-four said the Mean Girls starlet has wasted her talents.

And he accused her of being a liar.

His comments come after Lindsay claimed on her Twitter page that her father used to threaten to kill his ex-wife – and her mother – Dina Lohan.

Born-again Christian Michael said today: “That’s a lie. I guess Lindsay is on more drugs than I thought to say something like that.

“No wonder God is taking her entire career away from her.

“Because she’s forsaken everything He’s given her, and she’s done nothing but misuse all the gifts she’s been given.”

Lindsay, 23, claimed on Twitter: “He’s a deadbeat dad. He’s disgusting to do this. He doesn’t deserve attention. He needs help.

“She [Dina] blames herself for staying [with] him for so long, I’d beg her not to leave (because) he always threatened to kill her if she did.”

Actress Debi Mazar has revealed her daughters have play dates with Madonna’s children.

The 45-year-old, who recently took part in Dancing With The Stars, appeared in a number of Madonna’s music videos, and she revealed that she is good friends with the actress and their kids play together.

She said: “Madonna and I have been friends for almost three decades – dear friends. Our children have had play dates and we will always be friends.

“Will we worth together again? I hope so! We are both creative minds and enjoy each other’s company immensely.”

The 45-year-old actress, who found fame in the 1983 movie Flashdance, is to star in Hallmark Channel’s original family flick.

The film is about what happens when Santa Claus accidentally leaves the North Pole a day early and crashes on to a family’s roof.

Production on the movie has already started shooting in Toronto and will premiere on Hallmark Channel next year.

Beals used to star in Showtime’s The L Word but after its run concluded, she appeared in Fox’s Lie to Me and will also star in The Book of Eli.

The 34-year-old dad-of-three was asked what type of job he would have liked to have had, had he not got into cooking.

He said: “Probably a carpenter. I love the feeling of turning beautiful bits of gnarly wood into furniture.”

He added: “I don’t often get the opportunity to do it properly, but I’m geeky enough to go out and buy a massive piece of wood and turn it into a chopping board.”

This Is It will stay in cinemas over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The smash hit movie of Michael Jackson’s last weeks was initially planned for limited release over two weeks.

But distributor Sony’s chairman Jeff Blake says the movie was being rolled out in similar fashion to concert films Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best Of Both Worlds Concert Tour and Jonas Bros: The 3D Concert Experience, EW reports.

He said: “It was a process where suddenly we had a real movie with an A Cinemascore, great exit polls, good grosses and a normal DVD window. There was really no reason to pull it off the screen after two weeks.”

Not to mention the gross. The movie took in $34.4million in its first five days at the North American box office. Blake added: “We got adults. We got people who don’t normally call themselves Michael Jackson fans. Suddenly this movie was much more than a typical concert film. It was a real movie. Real movies don’t get pulled after two weeks.”

The surprise announcement of co-hosts Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin for the Oscars next year hid the declined invitations of actors Robert Downey Jr and Ben Stiller, according to a report.

Academy Awards organisers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman were reported to have asked Downey Jr and Stiller, a pair of dark comedians, to share hosting duties for the 2010 bash, which rose in viewer popularity this year on the back of Hugh Jackman’s hosting.

Jackman, too, indicated he did not want to go back for a second consecutive round as host. This year, he used old-fashioned showbiz routines and a business-like approach that viewers found fresh and enticing for the most part.

Jackman is instead preparing for his next cinema turn in the movie Real Steel. The Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences announced its co-hosts.

The 82nd Academy Awards will take place on March 7, 2010.

Hollywood couple Courteney Cox and David Arquette have teamed up with an American jewellery manufacturer to create their own range for charity, according to reports.

The pair are spearheading a drive to raise money for children suffering from epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare genetic condition that affects the skin.

They reportedly decided to raise money after a friend’s child fell victim to the condition.

Arquette said: “There is a beautiful child named Brendon, the son of one of our dear friends, Andrea Pett Joseph, who was born with epidermolysis bullosa or EB.

“We were not aware of the condition until it affected us personally but, of course, once we got to know this incredible child we wanted to do whatever we could to help.”

The Satya EB Charity Collection features a range of affordable butterfly-adorned pieces, and proceeds will help fund treatment and medical research for EB sufferers.

Gilbert, 45, who played Laura, is now starring as mother Caroline in the stage musical.

She said, “It’s an amazing experience, a real gift to be able to do it. I had never done a musical before last summer, when the show debuted. That aspect, being able to approach something totally new in this business, is a miracle.”

Gilbert also said she gains great satisfaction from charity work, with such groups as Habitat for Humanity. “People get so complacent. We get caught up in our own lives and dramas, and forget to see the bigger picture,” she said. “We rely on each other as human beings, and this show demonstrates that clearly.”

George Clooney has already graced the foyer of the White House.

Records released show Clooney and Oprah Winfrey were among the first visitors to President Barack Obama’s White House, meeting with the president, his wife, Michelle or top aides.

In Clooney’s case, the star – who is a United Nations messenger of peace – met with Obama and Vice President Joe Biden on February 23.

The group discussed the Sudanese crisis in Darfur, with Clooney requesting that a full-time envoy be despatched to the region. Oprah, meanwhile, interviewed the first lady on February 17.

The White House posted a list of some 480 records in response to questions about whether specific people visited the president’s home.

Clooney’s father, Nick, is a former politician and journalist.

Ryan Seacrest’s alleged stalker has pleaded not guilty to stalking the US TV host.

Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr faced a judge at a Los Angeles court this morning, following his arrest last week at Seacrest’s workplace in West Hollywood.

The judge granted a protective order for Seacrest that states that Uzomah, 25, must stay away from the American Idol presenter. His bail was also set at $150,000.

Uzomah is alleged to have stalked Seacrest between 15 September and 30 October.

Last Friday, Uzomah was arrested outside the E! building, where Seacrest records his TV and radio shows.

In September, Uzomah pleaded guilty to three misdemeanors after choking Seacrest’s bodyguard outside an Orange County hospital.

If convicted, Uzomah faces up to four years in prison. He is due back in court on 16 November.

A comic book based on the life of Princess Diana and featuring illustrations of the Queen, Prince Charles and her sons William and Harry has been published in the US.

Female Force: Princess Diana even includes pictures of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and features the “Camillagate” tapes that contained an X-rated chat between the heir and his then-mistress.

The comic presents a glowing image of the late princess, calling her “a modern British icon” and an “admirable woman”.

But the royal family are described as being “stoic”, and Prince Charles’s “post-divorce love life” is called a “half-hearted cloak-and-dagger attempt to conceal his relationship with his long-time mistress Camilla Parker-Bowles”.

Published by Bluewater Comics, the book also features illustrations of the last days of Diana’s life – including her holiday with Dodi Al Fayed, the tunnel in Paris where she was killed and her funeral.

Piers Morgan has revealed he was mistaken for a sex tourist while on a trip to Shanghai.

The 44-year-old, who is a judge on America’s Got Talent and the UK version as well, told how he went to sign autographs for two female ‘fans’ and found out that they were offering sex for £17.

He said that they asked him: “You American? You like take us back to your room? Only 200 yuan each. Good price!”

Morgan admitted that he declined the girls’ offer even though they were “going cheap”.

The former newspaper editor is currently on UK TV screens as he is hosting his new series Piers Morgan’s Life Stories where he chats to celebrities about their lives.
