American Sunset director pays tribute to Corey Haim

The director of one of Corey Haim’s last movies has paid tribute to the former teen idol who died earlier today, aged 38, of a suspected accidental drugs overdose.

Michael Masucci directed Haim in the indie thriller American Sunset, and he revealed that the former Lost Boys star, who was upfront about his former drug problems, was always very professional and “a joy to work with”.

He said: “Corey was the ultimate professional.

“He was always very upfront and frank about his previous drug problems, but there was never any hint of it while he filmed American Sunset.

“There was no evidence of any drug or pill use on the film set, he was extremely hard-working.

“He always turned up on time, knew his lines and was friendly with all the cast and crew, he was a joy to work with.”

He added: “Corey was extremely talented and that showed through in his work and he will be sorely missed by me and a lot of people in the industry.”

Masucci also revealed that he had jumped at the chance to cast Haim in the lead role after hearing the actor wanted to make a comeback.

He said: “Like anyone my age I knew of Corey from the Lost Boys and those teen movies in the ’80s and early ’90s.

“I jumped at the chance to meet him…”

Masucci is hoping the movie will get a release date later this year.

Angelina Jolie and brother post YouTube tribute to late mother

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie and her brother James Haven have posted a tribute to their late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, on YouTube.

The pair have put together a short video clip featuring home movies of the family in 1981 – when Jolie was just six years old.

The clip shows the Salt star and her brother as children with their mother messing around during a holiday in Hawaii.

Bertrand is seen giggling and hugging her children near the beach before doing a hula-style dance with the young Jolie.

In a different shot, Bertrand, who died from cancer on 27 January 2007, is seen grinning at the camera in a hotel room before hiding around a corner.

The video begins with the words: “One place Marcheline loved was Hawaii – she made many happy memories for her family there.”

The video ends with the message, “We Miss You Mum… With Love Angelina and James”.

The clip was posted on YouTube to mark the three-year anniversary of Bertrand’s death.

Johnny Depp ‘fine’ after Twitter death hoax

Actor Johnny Depp’s rep has confirmed the star is “fine” after a Twitter death hoax.

The 46-year-old star was subject to reports over the weekend that he had been killed in a car accident while in France.

A Twitter sensation started and “RIP Johnny Depp” became one of the site’s trending topics.

However, it was then confirmed that the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor is still alive. His rep said to E! News: “He isn’t dead. He’s fine.”

Michael Jackson’s Death Investigation is Over

The LAPD investigation into Michael Jackson’s death has been completed and the case will go to the DA soon enough. It’s being said that it’s all but certain that Dr. Conrad Murray will be criminally charged with the late singer’s death. A very informed source says that the investigation was exhaustive and very thorough and the DA has enough evidence to pull the trigger on a criminal case against Dr. Murray. The charge is still being decided up but sources say that it’s likely to be involuntary manslaughter, which requires showing of gross negligence. Here’s to hoping that the King of Pop can finally get his justice.

Jasmine Lennard will “watch over” Casey Johnson’s adopted daughter Ava following her death.

The 25-year-old British model has said she regularly keeps in contact with the three-year-old.

Lennard said: “My deepest sympathies go out to her [Casey's] incredible family, who did everything that they could to try and help her. I cannot imagine the pain they are in and my prayers are with them.

“Casey always made me promise if anything happened to her, I would watch over her baby Ava, and with her family’s blessing I will honour that promise. I will see Ava as soon and as much as possible, but I think it’s very important to allow her family the time to grieve.

“I speak with Ava regularly on the telephone, but I don’t want her to be upset right now with the association of me and her mommy. This is a tragedy. I am completely devastated.”

Michael Jackson Marriage Certificate Up for Auction

As time passes, more and more people are trying to cash in on Michael Jackson’s death. You can add another one to that list. The original marriage certificate which was issued to the King of Pop and Lisa Marie Presley, from when they were married in the Dominican Republic in 1994, is going up for auction in January. Phillip Weiss, who is auctioning off the paper, says “when you have an item that combines his name and legend with the Presley name and legend, their marriage certificate no less, with both of their signatures on it, you’ve got something that’s almost impossible to predict what it will bring at auction.” He’s got a valid point.

Princess Diana’s life turned into comic book

A comic book based on the life of Princess Diana and featuring illustrations of the Queen, Prince Charles and her sons William and Harry has been published in the US.

Female Force: Princess Diana even includes pictures of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and features the “Camillagate” tapes that contained an X-rated chat between the heir and his then-mistress.

The comic presents a glowing image of the late princess, calling her “a modern British icon” and an “admirable woman”.

But the royal family are described as being “stoic”, and Prince Charles’s “post-divorce love life” is called a “half-hearted cloak-and-dagger attempt to conceal his relationship with his long-time mistress Camilla Parker-Bowles”.

Published by Bluewater Comics, the book also features illustrations of the last days of Diana’s life – including her holiday with Dodi Al Fayed, the tunnel in Paris where she was killed and her funeral.

Lisa Marie Presley said her husband Michael Lockwood has helped her through her grief over Michael Jackson’s death.

Presley, 41, who was married to Jackson in 2004, told UK’s Hello! magazine: “There have been so many layers of grief in Michael’s death, so many different aspects and angles that have at times overwhelmed me, which I am still dealing with.

“I am incredibly fortunate that I have an amazing husband who has been unbelievably understanding and supportive throughout the process. He has cried with me, he has left me alone to cry if that’s what I needed.

“He has let me talk his ears off, he has listened while I talk others’ ears off, without annoyance or complaints. I have never met a more selfless and supportive person.

“That, along with the fact that I have been writing [songs] a lot and throughout, has helped.”

Randy Jackson Wants to Pull Footage

Randy Jackson has spoken out on behalf of the Jackson family, saying that they’re absolutely appalled at the lengths that the media went to cover Michael Jackson’s private burial last Thursday. He said “As a family, we are all aware of how Michael’s life, and his death, touched so many around the world. It is why we held a public memorial in my brother’s honor. And it is the reason we chose to release a small amount of footage leading up to yesterday’s ceremony at Forest Lawn… We had asked the media to respect the privacy and the sanctity of this event; to give us one moment of privacy to mourn as a family out of the public spotlight. Unfortunately, despite a no-fly zone around Forest Lawn, many media organizations decided to ignore our wishes. They employed helicopters that not only surreptitiously recorded our private family ceremony, but also severely disrupted it. I therefore ask today that media organizations airing helicopter footage of the ceremony we held for my brother immediately pull that footage from their air and refrain from airing it in the future.”

Liam Neeson and sons ‘taking each day as it comes’ following death of Natasha Richardson

Liam Neeson says he and his sons are ‘taking each day as it comes’ following the death of the star’s wife Natasha Richardson.

Richardson died earlier this year following a head injury she received during a ski trip to Canada.

Neeson said that his sons, Michael, 14, and Daniel, 12, ‘are doing good’.

“I am still getting extraordinary condolence letters from the American people that are deeply, deeply touching. And that is part of the reason why I recently became an American citizen.

“America has been very, very good to me. I am still a proud Irishman of course, but I have become an American citizen and I am very proud of that.”

Northern Irish-born Neeson also paid tribute to the late Senator Edward Kennedy and revealed that the politician had written to him following the death of Richardson.

“He wrote my family a very, very beautiful, touching condolence letter when Natasha died,” said Neeson. He was a special man. It is the end of an era.

“I have a very clear memory of being a 10-year-old boy and being taken to the ancestral Kennedy homestead in Ireland and posing for a photograph underneath the gable of their home with the American flag and the Irish flag up there,” said Neeson.

Speculation on Michael Jackson’s Toxicology Report

Multiple law enforcement sources are saying that the toxicology report in the Michael Jackson case shows that the King of Pop had a lethal amount of the anaesthetic Propofol in his system. However, that wasn’t the only drug that they found. It is being said that the toxicology findings show that the late singer also had alprazolam, also known as Xanax, in his system. Xanax is commonly used to treat anxiety. However, the sources also say that Propofol was “front and center in terms of why [Jackson] died.” So why have they not released the autopsy reports yet so we can all figure out how to finally move on from Michael’s case?

The deal involves a reprint of the King of Pop’s autobiography ‘Moonwalk’ with Shaye Arehart Books for US and Canada publishing rights, Michael Lafon for publishing rights in France, Heyne for rights in Germany and Heinemann for rights in the UK. And here’s a dose of brutal honesty for you, the documents state “The Special Administrators believe that it is in the best interest of the Estate for all book publishing agreements to be entered as soon as possible, as sales of the book and profits for the estate will be maximized the sooner the book is released due to the notoriety surrounding Michael Jackson’s unexpected death and the resulting heightened demand for such products.”

It seems that Michael Jackson’s death certificate has gotten a lot of hits. LA County coroner officials are looking into the unauthorized views of the King of Pop’s death certificate. Chief coroner investigator Craig Harvey said “There’s only one person in the investigation of Mr. Jackson who needed to have a copy of the death certificate, and that was the investigator.” In the 2 weeks after the singer’s death, the certificate received over 300 views on the restricted Electronic Death Registration System. Harvey learned about the breached files when he received a tip accusing a funeral home employee of creating a fake death certificate for the singer in the computer system. He failed to discover the fraudulent certificate but learned the names of coroner’s employees who viewed the document inappropriately.

3 Search Warrants Issued for Michael Jackson Investigation

Three search warrants have recently been issued by the LAPD to come to a solid conclusion regarding the cause of Michael Jackson’s sudden passing. Although Los Angeles police have sealed the investigation, five doctors responsible for supplying and/or prescribing the late singer with medicine are known to be under investigation. It would be safe to assume that the detectives want to figure out who prescribed the King of Pop the numerous bottles of the heavy duty sedative Diprivan, all without prescription labels. One, or possibly more, of those doctors may be in a world of trouble. If they had a conscience, they would speak up.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor denies she is on “suicide watch” since pal Jacko died

Dame Elizabeth Taylor has taken to her Twitter page to deny rumours she is on "suicide watch" since the death of pal Michael Jackson.

The 77-year-old actress was close friends with the King of Pop, who passed away on June 25 after reportedly suffering a heart attack.

She said on her Twitter: "Although my grief over Michael could not be any deeper, I am not on suicide watch as some of the cheaper ‘rags’ would have you believe."

She added: "I will always love Michael from the depth of my being, and nothing can separate us."
