Hollywood actress Eva Longoria Parker said she ‘hit the lottery’ when she landed her Desperate Housewives role.

The 34-year-old star plays Gabrielle Solis in the hit US TV series and admitted that she was so lucky to get the popular part.

She told UK magazine SHE: “I hit the lottery when I landed the role of Gabrielle. No one knew the show was going to be such a huge phenomenon. It’s so rare that this happens.

“Since it started, everything in my life has changed. It’s been a great experience.”

She added: “I love the family of Desperate Housewives and I love the opportunities it has given me.”

Michelle Obama and other celebrities will feature on the new season of kids TV show Sesame Street.

Michelle, 45, will promote gardening on the 40th anniversary season of Sesame Street.

The First Lady will feature on the first episode of the new series teaching kids about healthy eating as she plants tomatoes and cucumber seeds.

Other big names that will feature on the anniversary season of the show, include actresses Cameron Diaz and Eva Longoria Parker and comedian actor Ricky Gervais.

The new season premieres on November 10.

Actress Eva Longoria Parker is studying for a masters degree.

The Desperate Housewives star, who has already got a BSc from Texas A & M University, is now going to have to combine classes and filming.

The 34-year-old said: “Now I’ve got classes, books and homework to do in addition to learning my lines.”

Longoria Parker, who plays Garbrielle Solis in the TV series, wants to educate herself further to help out her local community.

She added: “Because of my involvement with the National Council of La Raza and my charity work I wanted a better understanding of what my community has gone through so I can help create change.”
