The website asked its readers to look at more than just instant sex appeal and vote for the woman who they would desire the most as a potential partner based on other factors such as intelligence and humour.

Other stars that made the top 10 of the poll include Underworld star Kate Beckinsale, model Alessandra Ambrosio, singer Beyonce and actresses Jessica Alba and Penelope Cruz.

Nine star Penelope Cruz said she thought the choreography was ‘impossible’ on the first day of rehearsals for the flick.

The 35-year-old actress stars alongside Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Fergie, Sophia Loren, Marion Cotillard and Judi Dench in the hit movie.

Cruz plays the role of Daniel Day Lewis’s mistress Carla and her big dance number involves rope and satin sheets.

She told the UK’s Sunday Times Culture magazine: “When I saw the choreography the first day, I thought it was almost impossible to be able to get to dance and sing like that, and do the whole number at once without stopping.

“It was three months of rehearsing for that number, every day a little more, a little more. The day that you get to run the number without stopping, you feel like you are flying – such a beautiful feeling.”

Cruz added that she really enjoyed her first professional singing role and practised hard for the part. She said: “I’m a very big fan of music. I sing at home in my karaoke machine and in the shower, but it was the first time professionally. I loved it.”

Nine star Penelope Cruz said that her dance moves for the musical flick were inspired by the Pink Panther.

The 35-year-old actress revealed the unusual way she got in the mood for her sexy routines in the new movie.

She said to co-star Marion Cotillard: “The musical number had to be sexy. And thinking about the Pink Panther would help get me in the mood…

“When I was climbing the ropes to the ceiling, all I could think about was the Pink Panther.”

Talking about her character of Carla, Cruz said: “I think she’s a little bit goofy – not that she tries to be funny, but something is a little bit off about her.”

Drew Barrymore, Oprah Winfrey and Demi Moore will join more than 500 celebrities expected at the major annual industry event for movies worldwide.

The festival, to be held in its namesake city, runs from September 10 to 19 and will showcase a staggering 271 feature films and 64 shorts from 64 countries.

Penelope Cruz has allegedly gone into hiding amid rumours she is pregnant.

The Spanish-born screen beauty is reportedly expecting a baby with actor Javier Bardem, 40.

Sources say Cruz, who has not been photographed since the beginning of the month, is “hiding out” until she’s further along in the pregnancy.

The New York Post reports: “[She] has been avoiding the limelight since June.”

Earlier this month it was claimed that Cruz, 35, was “four months” pregnant with Bardem’s child. The pair have been dating for more than two years.

A representative for Cruz was unavailable for comment.

Spanish director Pedro Almodovar has said he wouldn’t rule out working with muse Penelope Cruz’s boyfriend Javier Bardem.

Pedro, 57, was recently in London for the UK premiere of his new movie Broken Embraces, which stars Penelope, 35.

Asked if he would work with No Country For Old Men star Javier Bardem, he said: “I’d like that. I’ve got to know him a lot more since they’ve[Penelope and Javier] been together so I wouldn’t rule it out.”

Pedro has worked with Penelope on a number of movies and he recently had the UK premiere of his new movie at Somerset House in London.

Talking about the British capital, he said: “I love coming here. The first time was in 1972. It was the first place I ever visited outside of Madrid so London has always represented freedom for me. Freedom and style.”
